Funeral service for Robert Lee “Bob” Phillips, Sr., 75, of West Columbia will be 11:00 AM on Friday, March 22, 2019 at First Missionary Baptist Church, 146 S 18th Street, West Columbia, Texas 77486 where Rev. C. E. Richardson, Jr. is Pastor and Officiator.
Visitation will be on Thursday, March 21, 2019 from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM at E. Viola & Son Funeral Home in West Columbia.
Robert was born on January 6, 1944 in East Columbia to Jim Phillips and Alice (Davis) Phillips and passed away on Saturday, March 16, 2019 in Houston.
“Bob” was reared in West Columbia and attended Charlie Brown School. He worked at Phillips 66 Refinery Sweeny Complex for many years until he retired. His kind and gentle spirit will be missed by all who knew and love him.
He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Robert Lee Phillips, Jr.; seven sisters, Ella Ray Jones, Betty Hawkins, Loucresa Eason, Hazel Slaughter, Mary Jane Phillips, Lily Bell King and Marie Collier
Left to cherish his memory his wife of 53 years, Eva Mae Phillips; one daughter, Felicia Phillips; one granddaughter, Mercedes Davidson; three grandsons, Robert Phillips, III, DeShawn Godly and Darmond Phillips; one brother, Roy Phillips; one daughter-in-law, Nancy Phillips; a special nephew, William “Bo” Jones as well a host of other nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
