This is a bit late, but as Robert's 50 birthday approaches tomorrow I feel compelled to remember him in some way. I worked for Robert at WT as a student worker. I learned so much from him about programming and system administration. He was a great teacher and friend. I heard him play a few times, and he was a gifted jazz trombonist. Above all else, he was a good person. I didn't talk to him as much over years after he moved to Houston, but I miss him to this day. He was only 5 days older than me.

I am deeply saddened by Robert's passing. It was an honor sharing music with him in our HCC Wednesday Jazz Ensemble. A dear, dear person who will be very much missed. My deepest and most sincere condolences to his family.
