My sincere condolences on the passing of your dear uncle. I only ever knew him, respectfully, as Dr. Boyko.
I got to know him a little, indirectly, through my parents (Smylski) who lived on Mississauga Rd, South. My dad was also in the dental family, an oral surgeon. They had mentioned in passing that 640 Kedleston Way was the office of Dr. Boyko.
After my dad passed, we needed new groundskeepers for my mom and ended-up hiring the same people that looked after Kedleston Way for many years. That's how I got to know Dr. Boyko. In the end, I listed and sold the property for him.
I continued to visit for many years, and, as he enjoyed my 'Lifelines from the Animal Kingdom' calendars, I sent them to him up until 2019.
I'd bump into him and his caregiver in the shopping concourse and see them walking along Bloor Street - they always were so attentive.
I have fond memories of visiting him, such a kind and gentle man.
He'd grunt about the taxes we pay, in those days his auction visits and, always, how fond and proud he was of his niece and nephew.
