Robert Alan Brandt

Robert "Bob" (bobbrandtchicago, B squared, Daddio) Alan Brandt from Crystal Lake, IL passed away peacefully on January 30, 2023 at the age of 63 surrounded by his loving family. His recent battle with cancer took him from this world far too soon. But, as he did in all things in life, Bob faced it courageously. With tremendous tenacity and a huge loving smile. Even in his final moments he still had the strength to make us laugh, cry, and touch the hearts of strangers.

Bob was born in Elk Grove Village, IL on January 11, 1960 to Charles and Carol Brandt. He graduated from Concordia in 1989 with a degree in computer science and went on to many different careers including digital radio communications and insurance. However, his "jobs" did not define him, and anybody who knew Bob knew his true passions were his faith, his family, and teaching others.

Bob met the love of his life, Kathy, while waiting tables at Red Lobster (where they secretly made out in the bus room). They married on August 13, 1983 and shared 40 wonderful years of life together. They raised four beautiful daughters together (Kristin, Meghan, Britanny, and Katie), and have 3 amazing grandchildren (Dylan, Hailey and Hunter).

He spent his time enjoying friends and family, working in the yard, and of course rooting on his beloved Cubbies.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents Charles and Carol Brandt; sister Cheryl Brandt; and brother William Brandt.

He is survived by his wife Kathy; children Kristin Brandt, Meghan (Victor) Hinton, Britanny Brandt, and Katie Brandt; grandchildren Dylan Brandt, Hailey and Hunter Hinton; and cute cats Rita and Larry

Services will be held at Willow Creek Church in Huntley, IL on Saturday February 18, 2023 at 2:00PM. In lieu of flowers a GoFundMe has been set up for the Bob Brandt Memorial Fund https://gofund.me/71e00f10
