Robert E. Bryant

AGE: 68 • Vineland

Robert E. Bryant (68) of Vineland went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, September 19, 2015 at home surrounded by his family. Born in Randallstown, MD on January 31, 1947, he was raised in Willow Grove, PA. He was a prolific athlete at Abington High School where he was named the 1965 PA State Champ in the 440 yard dash and in his local community where he played softball for many years. A veteran of the USMC, he served in Vietnam as a 2nd BN 5th Marine Scout Sniper and was awarded the Purple Heart. Upon his return he married the love of his life, Sundie Jones. At age 33, he was called to the ministry after receiving the Baptism of the Holy Spirit with the evidence of speaking in tongues. The anointing was so strong in his life, the Spirit led him and moved him to create the Covenant of Love Ministries of Vineland, NJ where he was elder, pastor and teacher. "Bobby", as he was affectionately known, was loved by all who knew him! Bobby is predeceased by his parents William and Helen Bryant and sister, Sylvia Brown.

He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Sundie, twin daughters; Rasheen (Greg) and Daneen, son; Taman (Carmen), and daughter; Tracie (Rick), his many grandchildren, brothers; William "Billy" (Shirley) and Elton (Janet) and many nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday, September 26th, 2015 at 4:00pm at Demarco-Luisi Funeral Home, 2755 South Lincoln Avenue, Vineland, NJ. Our condolences to Bobby's family,I was lucky to have spent many yrs. traveling weekends while playing competive softball with Bobby from N.Y.,PA.,DE.,OH.,DC,MD,VA.,SC.,NC, FL.,TX.,AND including a Nation Championship in ALABAMA. When things where going bad, I would look over to him and he would smile and say don't worry "cream always rises to the top". What a PLEASURE to have had such a great mentor and positive person by my side to inspire me through my youth. God,Family, and Sports he would tell me. How Blessed I am to have spent so much time with Big "B".. You will be missed!!!!!

God Bless,
Jose Colon, & Family

Bobby Bryant was a special person. In Junior High he starred on undefeated football and track teams. In High school he was asked to forego football to concentrate on track. In our junior and senior year, the track team was undefeated and won two state titles. Bobby was the Pennsylvania state champion in the 440 yard sprint and anchored the record setting mile relay team. He also helped set a new record at the Penn Relays, along with wins in the Inquirer Games and the Meet of Champions. He held many records. Whenever he ran at track meets, everyone stopped and watched in awe. He was so gifted. Bobby always had an infectious smile. He was so easygoing and constantly joked around. Next week is the class of 1965 50th reunion for Abington High School. Bobby was one of the people I was especially was looking forward to seeing after 50 years. I will miss Bobby Bryant. Rest in peace my friend.
