Rob was a man with a heart of gold and a song in his soul. From the day I met him on a professional level we became friends. There was no one else Scott & I would've preferred to host our wedding day. You are gone much too soon from this place called life, however will live on through the many lives you have touched over the years.
Thoughts go out to Casey, Conor & those who you held close to your heart.

I am so sad to have learned this evening that Rob passed away. Working at Casey's was the most fun I've ever had at a job. I am forever grateful to Rob for seeking me out when the Pic closed and bringing me "into the family" :)
My heart goes out to all of you-
Love,Deb xo

Memories of my dear nephew Robert:
My earliest memory would be when I was 10 years old and Robert was a toddler splashing away in a kiddie pool in the backyard of his grandmother's house on South Street. What a strong little young fellow he was.
Then came the summer at age 16 when that city slicker, with soft hands and used to at least two showers a day, came to Canada to go out as a deckhand for the summer on my husband's scallop boat, the MV Eastpack II out of Riverport, Nova Scotia. The boats back then had not the luxuries of today. For the twelve days out there, there was no showering. Working twelve hours a day, digging through rocks and shovelling scallops, soon turned soft hands calloused and swollen .But in spite of all that, Robert made it through the summer and made a good summer's pay to boot. Years later Robert described the experience as one of the greatest adventures of his life!?!
Sitting in Uncle Hubert's backyard after his funeral two years ago, Robert and I talked about his family. Casey and Connor, you were his pride and joy. I could feel the love in his voice when he spoke about you. He was so proud of you both. I remember him being worried about you Casey as you were leaving to teach in New York and speaking so highly of you Connor and your plans for the future.
1 Corinthians 13 tells us Three things will last forever - faith, hope, and love - and the greatest of these is love. To Robert's family who are grieving, remember his love and hold it forever in your heart.
I love you Robert Burns. Rest in Peace.
Love Aunt Anna Mae
(Sympathy and love also from Uncle Kevin and cousins Melissa, Monica, John, Michael, and Alex)
