Dear Joyce,
I was so sorry to hear of Bob's homegoing. Sorry for you and your family, but rejoicing for him. Since my husband,Dave, went to be with the Lord in February 2005 I have been unable to get to Camp Sychar where I had been able to keep in touch with you in recent years.
I first became acquainted with you and Bob at Camp Sychar, but then came to know Bob better in 1968-70 when as an "older" student at Malone College I had Bob for several classes. I still have a chart I made for an OT class project during that time. He was a wonderful teacher.
Then during my Malone College years I will never forget your kindness to me and my son, Duane, who was 5 years old at the time (he is now 45). Duane was in the Nazarene Church pre-school/kindergarten classes during some of those days as I was completing my college degree. One of my classes at one time overlapped the time I was to pick him up at the Nazarene Church. Somehow your family for a number of weeks went to the church, picked him up, and took him to your home until my class was over. Imagine it was more your and Linda's doing than Bob's, but as a result he and I had a running dialogue for some time in regard to the possibility of Duane and I becoming a member of his family so I could receive assistance with my Malone tuition. Nothing ever came of it, of course, but it was fun calling him Dad and hearing his comebacks.
I was unable to attend either calling hours or the funeral at Dueber Church since I was in Fort Wayne IN visiting my son, Doug, and his family during those days.
My thoughts and prayers have been, and will continue to be, with you and your family during this difficult time of life.
Prayerfully - Doris Stahl

Hello, my name is Nancy Ludwig & Robert Buswell is my Grandpa. He lovingly teased me while also teaching me the valuable spiritual wisdom he had. He has a deep love for his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
Grandpa use to tease me by sending me plastic bugs, or placing pickled eggs on my plate when I wasn't looking(yuck). He greeted my children by saying "Hi Pete!" I have 3 girls. :-) He told many clever jokes and stories. His quick wit was met with laughter & smiling faces. I will miss his teasing, Grandma(Joyce) said she would pick it up for him. I'm in trouble now, Grandma is fun to be with!
My most cherished memories are of him sharing about God, praying to the Lord, there was always respect in his voice. His sermons are all inspirationable. Grandpa encouraged me to witness to others, to stand up for what is right through Christ. I was able to share with him at Camp Sychar this past August about a spiritual growth in my life. I will cherish the softness that came over his face, the understanding & the discussion that followed. He always told me "I love you, Nancy" each time we parted.
Praise God! I have been rooted strongly in the Lord Jesus Christ. I love you Grandpa, I'll see you later in Heaven.

Our sympathy and prayers to the Buswell family. Rev. Buswell married Linda and I 41 1/2 years ago at the old Bethany United Methodist Church. We have never forgotten him. My mother Ruth Poland speaks of him often. God Bless this wonderful man.

Dear Joyce: Bob was a good dependable friend. A true evangelical. A loyal pastor and brother. We shall see him shortly.

Dr. Buswell was one of my favorite professors at Malone ('72-'76). I took Greek from him during an 8:00 AM class. Greek at 8:00 AM?! (There has to be some law against that somewhere.) Nevertheless, Dr. Buswell made the language of the New Testament come alive in an educational and entertaining way. He was, quite simply, full of life and full of the Christ he loved and served. It will be good to again one day laugh and learn from him. Do they allow 8:00 AM Greek classes in Glory?
Peace Dr. Buswell

Words cannot adequately express my sympathy to you in your loss. I have admired and respected Dr. Buswell from the first day I had him for my O.T. prof. at Malone in 1968. And that admiration and respect have not faltered through all these years. I know the heavenly choir greeted him as he entered the gates to his new home and I know that his creator greeted him with a strong embrace and the words "Well done, my good and faithful servant, well done." I will miss him.
