Our dear father, Robert Earl Lee Byrd, 82 years old, sadly, passed away November 2, 2022 at his home in North Ridgeville, Ohio. He was born January 4, 1940, in Midland Virginia, the son of Herbert and Sally Mary (Lewis) Byrd. He served in the US Navy for 20 years as a Chief Gunner on the USS Orleck. He married Kathy Ann (Bankhead) Byrd. He had a career working at Zayre, and later worked for the US Postal Service.
In addition to his parents, Robert is predeceased by his wife, Kathy Byrd; brothers, Edward Daniel Byrd and James Elwood Byrd Sr; sisters, Barbara Ann Yates, Linda Ruth Byrd and Rosenna Marie Davis; and son, Gerald Byrd.
Robert is survived by his daughters, Rosana Linette (Hatten) Byrd and Gigi Dee (Depew) Byrd; son, Gerard Dean Byrd; grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and many nieces/nephews.
Service will be held at Reichlin Roberts Bollinger Funeral Home, 327 Cleveland Street, Elyria, Monday, November 14th from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm. Burial will be at Westwood Cemetery in Oberlin, Ohio.
