I was only thinking about Robert a few days ago and mentioned him to my wife.
Tonight I thought I would do a search for him on the internet. I am a little stunned to find that he has already passed into Glory (Heaven).
As a single man I attended his 21st in Cootamundra and not long after my wife and I were guests at his wedding. He had a maturity beyond his years. He was about to enter the police force. As so often happens, lives go separate ways.
I'd be grateful if someone could email me his obituary. It is referenced above but the loink just takes one to the funeral notice.

Very sad to hear of Rob's passing. Just finished reading Shoe Dog (History of Nike) and I recall my first pair of fancy Nikes. In the lead at the Grenfal Fun Run and about 2km from home this guy flies past me wearing Dunlop XT26. It was Rob. Super humble bloke.

Dear Jacquie and family. Rob was truly a genuine person and gentleman. A man who always demonstrated integrity, and for all who had the pleasure of knowing him, could trust him. I had the pleasure of working with Rob for a number of years. He made my entry into the AFP one of inclusion, warmth and always went out of his way to help. I will always remember him and his smile.
Love to you and your family. Jacquie Reedy

I remember Rob from the late 80s early 90s, a brilliant athlete that I can still picture him in a relay race, it stuck with me how competitive and talented he was. Next meeting with Rob was when I was having problems with my Son, he came to my house to visit me and to see how things were going. Next time I met Rob is at St John's Kippax where we both read at the Vigil Mass on Saturday nights. I met both Rob and Jacquie and they are such a beautiful loving couple. I feel so sad for us to lose Rob so young, but my deepest sympathy and thoughts go to you Jacquie, Joel and Lauren for the loss of both Emma and now Rob. I'm so glad Jacquie that you had that special time with Rob in Cairns. It's hard to say the right words, but keep Emma and Rob close to you and treasure those special times you all shared as a couple and as a family. I will never forget Rob, in my mind he was such a caring person, a Saint. My poor wife Kelley didn't get to talk much to Rob, when she was out running, Rob would fly by on his bike. He loved staying fit and he was a great athlete and friend. Mick & Kelley. Forever in our hearts.

I had the pleasure of working with Rob both in the ACT and WA. A very thoughtful and caring colleague. I was saddened to hear of Rob's passing. Far too young. My sincere condolences to Rob's family at this time.
