Robert Ivan Chase

Robert Ivan Chase, aged 89, passed away on August 29, 2024, in Deerfield, IL. He was born on February 14, 1935.

Robert was a loving husband to the late Joan Ruth Chase (nee Goldman) and a devoted father to his three children: Bonnie Yale, Steve Chase (Ilene), and Ronda Parmacek (Brian). He was a joyful grandfather to his eight grandchildren: Jeni (Oren), Jeff (Shelane), Taylor (Ethan), Jason (Carly), Landon, Jake, Jordyn (Joey), and Zoey. He was also a caring brother-in-law to Gloria Diamond. Robert was preceded in death by his wife Joan Ruth Chase (Goldman) his parents, Ben and Ethel Chase, and his brother-in-law, Alvin Diamond.

Educationally, Robert attended Von Stuben High School and later graduated from DePaul University. Professionally, he was a successful entrepreneur, owning and operating his own insurance company that specialized in Medicare supplements. His business acumen and dedication to his clients were well respected in the industry.

Robert's zest for life was evident in his personal interests. He was a talented singer and actor in community theater, and an accomplished athlete. His hobbies included golf, tennis, stone sculpture, and notably, deep sea diving for lost wedding bands, a pursuit that highlighted his adventurous spirit.

A private family service will be held at Memorial Park Cemetery on September 4, 2024. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to The Michael J. Fox Foundation, supporting research in Parkinson's disease, a cause important to Robert.

Robert Ivan Chase will be remembered for his adventurous spirit, his commitment to his family, and his contributions to the community. His legacy will live on in the hearts of those who knew him and were touched by his generosity and love.
