Robert "Bobby Don" Colbert

Dr. Colbert was my mentor and advisor at UConn. He changed the way I saw the world in wonderful, wonderful ways. I will miss him greatly.

I just loved Robert. My heart hurts knowing I will not see
him again on the back trails and hills of the golf course.\
We were running buddies from way back and as we aged,
we cheered each other on.
when the weather was such you wouldn't let your dog out,
Robert would be running and so would I. I am 10 years
older than Robert and have loved seeing him through the
years doing what he loved and what I love - running and
being in the back hidden places on this beautiful Amherst.
Please know I am so sorry f0r your great loss and that I
will be praying for that wonderful man and hoping he is
running in heaven.

I loved Robert. He was a kind, deep, thoughtful, wise friend. Knowing him enriched my life and that of so many others. My heart goes out to you during this time of great loss. We never met, Marge, Jennifer and Melissa, but Robert spoke of you with such love and devotion. May his memory always bring you joy and peace.

I am truly going to miss you. I loved you so much and was so excited to be apart of you and Margie's lives You are going to be missed big time but I know that you are in our hearts. I will get to see you on the other side. It can be so hard to face the first year without your loved one, but the love of family and friends can carry you through.

I was fortunate to have learned from this great man while a grad student at UConn. He meant so much to me and to my classmates. We were lucky enough to have a small faculty group who really got to know us as students. Dr. Colbert was an awesome teacher and an even greater person.

I was deeply saddened to hear of Dr. Colbert's passing. It was because of him I was accepted into the school counseling program at UConn. He taught me so much about myself, and opened my eyes in ways I never could have imagined. I will never forget the way he lite up when I shared my kids Santa Clause story with him. He is such an amazing person, and I am grateful I had the opportunity to get to know him. My deepest sympathy go out to Mrs. Colbert, Melissa, and Jennifer. May you all be comforted in his loving warmth.

Robert was an incredible professor and an exceptional person. His course on multicultural counseling made a lasting impact upon how I view the world, which is a little bit less bright without him. We'll miss you, Robert.

No bond is as great as that between a parent and child. My deepest condolences are with you as you grieve.

Dr. Colbert was one of my professors while he was at UW-Whitewater in the early 90's. He was a wonderful person and an influential professor who will not be forgotten. I learned so much from him that I continue to carry with me in the Counseling profession.

Robert was a great friend and colleague at the University of Wisconsin, Whitewater. His passing is a huge loss. May his soul rest in perfect peace. My deepest sympathies to Marge and the rest of the family.

Robert was a true friend and gentle soul. I was blessed to have been able to know "Bobby D", and will truly miss his smile and kindness. It was a joy to have worked with him at UConn. Condolences to his family which was the world to him.

Robert arrived at UConn just one year after I did - in those early years, we were lucky to be "next office" neighbors. Across the many years, I can't remember a single day in which Robert wasn't ready to greet me (or anyone) and provide welcome with a big smile and pleasant conversation. I will miss our hallway chatter, and share my deepest sympathies to all of his family and friends.

Robert was a wonderful friend of colleague. He will be sorely missed.

Despite the brief time I knew him as a colleague, his quiet penetrating comments still resonate with me.I hope Marge and the family know that he has touched many lives and we are grateful. Trusting that the family's unity will serve to grow new strength to overcome the loss.

Robert was a treasured colleague for the years with shared a professional field and will always be remembered as a friend with kind words and a sympathetic heart. We hadn't seen each other is quite a while, and I am very saddened to hear of his passing. My thoughts are with you all at this difficult time. He was a wonderful man, who will be missed by many.
