Very sorry to hear of the passing of a great mentor & boss as I worked for Bob driving bus for many years. Many times did I enjoy sitting in his office & discussing everything including the transportation industry. Since my bus driving days I took his advise & started my own business which I run today. My thoughts are with the family, specifically Rick & Mike. I regret not knowing of his passing earlier, I pen this in late September.
Please accept my sincere condolences.

It was an oner to know Mr. Colborne.i took great pride in working for such a humble man. I noticed that he treated everybody as an equal and gave you like family feeling when he walked into a room full of people. The world would be a better place if there were more people of his way of inspiration . He had a very magnetic personality. I'm surly will miss talking with him and his laugh he always had.my heart goes out to all of his family, and friends.

Mrs. Colborne and family
It was with sadness that I learned from my mom of the the passing of Mr Colbourne. I remember all the times that he helped out our family throughout the years and for that I am very grateful. I have no doubt that when he passed over he heard Jesus say ‘Well done, good and faithful servant! Come and share your master's happiness!'

I will be praying for you

Dear Mrs. Colborne and family,

I felt sincere sadness when I heard the news of Mr. Colborne's passing. I held him in the highest regard, and saw him as an fine example of what men of unquestionable character could be. We need more men like him among us, not fewer. His integrity, his love and care for family, his respect and fairness for employees, his commitment to community, his humility and grace have left a mark on MY personal definitions of success, and for this, I am thankful. Behind your sadness, you should be, and no doubt are, very proud.

Mr. Colborne and your family have always been part of the very pleasant "constants" of my life at Ma-Me-O. It is never easy to see these constants shaken up and re-arranged; but with a certainty of a larger plan, I'm assured that our God has already received Mr. Colborne into his loving arms, and that He will comfort you in the days ahead.

My thought and prayers are with you.

To The Entire Colborne Family,

The life-long attachment between our families has been so extra special through the past many years. We remember, with such fondness, each & every Christmas Eve we were able to spend 'all together' at Lynne & Den's. Those happy memories will continue to live in all of our hearts and minds forever.

Bill & Mary-Jane will be so happy to see Bob...they have missed him so much (as the rest of us always will).

I can just hear Bill & Mary-Jane Brennan saying, "It's about damn time you got here...let's get this party started!"

We'll miss you, Dear 'Mr. Colborne'. Rest assured that your legacy will live on through your beloved wife, Jeanne, your amazing children, grandchildren & great grandchildren.

We just wish we could be there to share in the celebration of Bob's life.

Thinking of you all as you journey through this very difficult time; may God bless you with strength of heart and peace of mind.

Just know that we are thinking of you.

With Much Love, the Fondest of Memories, and our Deepest Sympathy,

Brielle, Madeleine, Catherine and Danny Burdett

Mr. Colborne, Papa Bob, you had a huge impact on our family. Always more interested in others, always taking the time to be present and connected; you made me and our children feel so very special. Every time I had the good fortune to engage in conversation with you, I came away feeling enriched by your wisdom, your perspectives, your experience and ideas. Your integrity was evidenced at every turn; your values steadfastly held. I also love that twinkle in your eye and a certain kind of mischievousness in your smile. Whether at birthdays, at the lake or special holiday celebrations, the room was always brighter when you walked into in.

A profound sense of sadness and loss is felt. May the entire Colborne family and circle of friends and relations find comfort knowing that your husband, father, Papa and friend had such an impact, leaving a remarkable legacy for so many to be inspired by and to attempt to emulate.
God Bless.

My deepest sypmathy to Jeanne and family on Bob's passing. He will be remembered so fondly of the crib games played with my dad, Joe Duggan every weekend for $100 a game. They only played 3 games each day. What laughter and comradery they had! Bob always was so kind to my whole family. He always invited me in for a visit and a coffee. Thank you for being part of my life. He truly was a wonderful man. It is with deep regret that I cannot make it to the funeral. Know that I am there in spirit.

Dear Colborne Family,

I was very sad to learn of Mr. Colborne's passing. I came to work for Mr. Colborne as a bus cleaner in about 1972 when the company was called Diversified located on 9th avenue SE. I worked for him for twenty years until I retired. I found him to be a kind and caring person. My thoughts and prayers are with your families, especially Mike who I fondly remember.

Jeanne & Family...It was a tremendous shock when we heard of Bob's passing! Bob was a tremendous mentor for me, going as far back as "Wetskiwin Motors" when I used to visit with him. Did not know then, that we would eventually become partners in California. Bob was a tremendous influence on me and Alice and we will never forget him, ever. Our sympathies to the family and especially to you, Jeanne, he will be waiting for us all in heaven.

My deepest sympathy to the Colborne family. I had a chance to visit Mr. C a couple weeks ago when he was in the hospital, and we just chewed the fat as usual. While he was the wealthiest man I knew, he was the nicest guy - full of humanity. I once said he had a "Kennedy-ish" charisma. I am really going to miss him and our kitchen table chats.

My deepest sympathy to Jeanne and all the Colborne clan. Our family knew Bob, Jeanne and the kids from their days in Wetaskiwin. My Dad held him the highest regard and considered him one of his best friends. He and Jeanne were regular guests in our home & vice versa. Dropping by to see Bob was one of my favourite things to do when at the lake. I will miss that a lot. May God bless you all and make His presence felt in your hearts during this time of grieving.

To Mrs. Colbourne, Rick, Lynne and Dennis, Mike, and Catherine. Our thoughts are with you at this time. I have very fond memories of Bob. He was always such a nice man, so very kind, a good friend to our family (Dad was always bringing home cars for approval at Bob's suggestion!). As I remember him most from Wetaskiwin days and "the lake", these memories are much cherished. He gave a lot of himself for the betterment of all. I thank him for this. Please know I would be at the service, but am travelling at this time. Our prayers are with you at this time.
