Our family will always miss him but will remember all the good times we had together. He made me laugh over and over. Tears for a wonderful man.

Dear Claire,
Layton and I were classmates in 1964 when we were brand new MSCs.
He was from East Texas where my in-laws retired after they left the Navy. We stayed in touch over the years, He helped me get my last assignment to Scott AFB Medical Center. Invited him to many luncheons while in San Antonio and to all the MSC Reunions but he was unable to make any of them. Busy person. Ray Inman and I saw him at Randolph AFB in 2012. Last time we gave each other a hug. Condolences to you and all the family. Mac McClean

I will always smile as I recall Layton and Marty Zizzi going at each other in the MAC SG office in B 1600 at Scott AFB. They taught me the value of humor and hard work. Tom Peters, Lexington KY

Col. Collier was my first OIC at RAF South Ruislip in 1969, and ironically my last OIC at Wilford Hall Medical Center in 1991. He officiated at my retirement parade - photo attached. I was saddened to hear of his passing.

I worked for Colonel Collier from 1976 until 1980. A day does not pass that I do not use something I learned from him. RIP my dear mentor.
