Robert Collier Obituary
Col. Robert Layton Collier, USAF (Ret.) passed away on Friday, March 25, 2017 in San Antonio, Texas. He was born in Henderson, Texas to Robert Terrell and Mary Lou Collier.
He is survived by his wife Christine Claire Collier of San Antonio and his brother Matthew Loring Collier of Mount Enterprise, E. Texas.
The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 5, 2017 at Sunset Funeral Home 1701 Austin Highway. Interment to follow at 1:45 p.m. at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery.
In Lieu of flowers the family would appreciate donations to "Feed the Children".

Dear Claire,
Layton and I were classmates in 1964 when we were brand new MSCs.
He was from East Texas where my in-laws retired after they left the Navy. We stayed in touch over the years, He helped me get my last assignment to Scott AFB Medical Center. Invited him to many luncheons while in San Antonio and to all the MSC Reunions but he was unable to make any of them. Busy person. Ray Inman and I saw him at Randolph AFB in 2012. Last time we gave each other a hug. Condolences to you and all the family. Mac McClean

Col. Collier was my first OIC at RAF South Ruislip in 1969, and ironically my last OIC at Wilford Hall Medical Center in 1991. He officiated at my retirement parade - photo attached. I was saddened to hear of his passing.
