Deepest sympathy. Mr. Colville was my first "boss" out of law school and was always a kind hearted soul. Always said "hi" to me and, as a young lawyer, it meant the world that a man like that acknowledged a young lawyer. He carried this same spirit as a judge and was always a fair man. He always would stop and talk to me on the street as a judge. He was a good man and he will be missed.

If there is a description of that expression, "A MAN'S MAN", Bob Colville would fit it perfectly. He was one of the first people I met after becoming an attorney. His smile and contagious laughter have remained with me to this day. He was always pleasant and comfortable to be around. What made Bob special was not his position or titles but his spirit. Integrity was the centerpiece of Bob's life. One of the few people in our profession who could make you smile just by his presence. To Bob's family I extend my deepest sympathy for your great loss. I, like many others, will miss his presence, but will hope to see him as we all join him being with the Lord. MAY GOD BLESS THE COLVILLE FAMILY!

Judge Colville,
It was an honor and a blessing to serve as your primary court clerk when you sat on the bench at juvenile court. Your kindness, empathy and ability to listen with your heart and mind truly captured every person who entered into your courtroom. I learned so much from you and will miss you terribly and I know I can feel this way because you treated me like a daughter/family and this has put a huge hole in my heart because of the joy and fairness you shared with people. My deepest condolences to the Colville family... Bridgette Batch-Lunz

To Robert's families, I send my deepest sympathies and you all are in our prayers. Coach Colville gave me my first job out of college as his assistant when he was the head coach at North Catholic. Bob was a true friend, my mentor, and a person to emulate His big smile and warm greetings will be missed by everyone who knew him.He was a fine judge but he was also a really good football coach who guided the 1963 team to an undefeated season. Bob can now rest in peace in Heaven.

Our sincere sympathy to Janet and the entire family. We have so many memories of the good times we had with Bob and Janet over the years. We'll always remember Bob for his great sense of humor as well as his great mind - a life well lived. We pray that soon, the profound sadness that his loved ones are feeling now will be replaced with wonderful, happy memories of your husband, your father, your grandfather, and your friend. Bless You All.

I served with Bob Colville from the time of his appointment as Chief of Police in 1970 until he left to become District Attorney. As the City's most effective Police Chief in modern history he guided the Police Department through its most difficult times, ran an open and honest administration and was thought of favorably by the officers in his Department. His career of public service is almost without parallel. In addition he was a fine family man and respected by all who knew him. Our condolences to all of his friends and relatives who have lost one of the best.
