I was sorry to hear that Bobby Conroy died. I included his memories of serving as an officer in the Pittsburgh Police Department and being a long-time resident of Oakland in my book, Irish Pittsburgh. The story is a tribute to his life and now a simple memorial to a good man. May he rest in peace.

I was truly blessed to know your father from the POW Clinic at the VA Hospital. He was such a pleasure to talk with and I always looked forward to speaking with him when he came in. He was a true American Hero. May he rest in peace with your mother and sister, Patricia. I picture him greeting all his old friends in heaven. God bless your family for sharing your father with Pittsburgh!

Dear Tom, Mary Lou and Eileen,
I am so saddened to find out about your dads death. He was such a nice guy. He would always stop in to see your grandmother Agnes, your aunt Mary and of course Mike. He knew everybody that was Irish in Oakland as well as just about everyone at St Regis. Your sister Patricia and I graduated in 1966 at St Regis. Your dad had all sorts of stories to share with every one. I hope that God can comfort you in this loss. From John Husack

Dear Mary Lou, Eileen, and Family,
I remember the first time I met your Pop down at the restaurant. I was just out of school, 1980. Mr. Conroy introduced himself to me and offered me encouragement as I was just coming into the family business. I never forgot that day or him and always looked forward to talking to him when he would stop in. He truly is one of the last of the great Old Timers. My heart goes out to you.
