I was a couple of years behind Bob at Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania's Baldwin High School but remember him as a great athlete and even more as a fine fellow. His recent writeup and Obituary show he remained a class act all his life. Our condolences to his family.

To the Family and Many Friends of Bob Dean: When I was given the honour of joining the team as secretary at Al Shamal Shrine Centre, Bob was one of the first members to welcome me. He patiently answered my questions with humor and pride. My thoughts are with you all.

To Bob:
I know your job is not yet done, for you are immortally dedicated to help others and will continue in heaven and here on earth. I will miss your visits to the centre. You will live on. - Ellen Mastrangelo (Al Shamal Shrine - Reception)

Shirley an Family; our deepest sympathy to you all. Bob's legacy is far greater than we Pittsburgers knew, yet it is not surprising. Being a few years younger than Bob I followed his career, from Baldwin on. He was my hero and the number 42 was one I used all of the time in sports because it was Bob's number early on in his football career. He truely will be missed and we are praying for your peace that only God can provide.
Our love, Bill and Joyce May

Bob ... A wonderful mentor and truly great friend. We had lots of wild and crazy times at Lazerte.
Bob could direct traffic, play computer golf, counsel staff, inspire kids and run a fine school all at the same time. And he always had great taste in ties!
Saddest regrets to Shirley and Family.

Bob Dean was my idol when he was a teacher at King Edward Park school. I was proud to be a member of of any sports team Mr. Dean coached. I will never forget my homeroom grade eight teacher.

To the Bob Dean family.
I am so very sorry for your loss. I had the privilege of knowing Bob during several years while I was member of the Edmonton Police Service as well a member of the Motor Corp of the Al Shamal Shrine. Although, I haven't seen him for a number of years, I have thought of him fondly on many occasions. I was one of the hundreds who were fortunate enough to have been his friend, enjoying so many laughs together (especially while riding the BIG motor corp cycles). He was a BIG man with an even BIGGER heart, he will be missed but never forgotten.
