ROBERT DeBLANDER Obituary
Robert, age 80, of McDonald, Mt. Pleasant Twp., died Saturday, June 16, 2018 in his home. He was born September 7, 1937, in Primrose, a son of the late Anthony A. and Lillian DeBiasi DeBlander. Mr. DeBlander was a member of St. Alphonsus R.C. Church and previously worked in the maintenance department at the PA Department of Public Welfare. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, Polka dancing and watching sports on television. He was a member of Midway SNPJ and the SNPJ Button Box Club, McDonald American Legion and was a US Army veteran. Surviving are his wife of 57 years, Anna V. Slugo DeBlander; children, Robert (Carol) DeBlander, Jr. of MI, Debra A. (Wayne Cook) DeBlander of Imperial, Richard A. DeBlander of Primrose; grandchildren, Robert B. DeBlander III and Sydney E. DeBlander. He is also survived by a sister, Janet O'Donnell of Imperial. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Edward and Harold DeBlander. Friends will be received Wednesday June 20, 2018, from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. in the THOMAS - LITTLE FUNERAL SERVICE, INC., 314 W. Lincoln Avenue, McDonald (724-926-2800). A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday, June 21, 2018, at 11:30 a.m. in St. Alphonsus R.C. Church, McDonald. Interment will follow in the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies, Bridgeville. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Alphonsus R.C. Church, 219 W.
