Robert DELAHEY

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Bob (Chub) Delahey at Peterborough Regional Health Center on January 7, 2023 at the age of 88. Beloved husband of Marion (née Jones) for 68 years. Devoted father of Fred (Tammy) and Brent (Kim). Cherished poppa of Rob (Jenna) and Dave (Emily) and great-granddaughter, Regan. Bob will be missed and loved by sister-in-law, Lois Rye of Port Moody B.C. Brother, Harvey (Carol) of Peterborough. Predeceased by his sister, Shirley; brothers, Roy and Keith. He will be missed by many nieces, nephews, and many friends.

Bob was inducted into the Peterborough and District Sports Hall of Fame in 2002 and was an active member of their board of directors. He was very sports oriented, volunteering for many years at the local Atom hockey tournament. He also played hockey and lacrosse in Peterborough as well in later years was the trainer for the Peterborough Petes hockey club and the Peterborough Lakers lacrosse club.

The family would like to thank everyone at P.R.H.C unit B4 as well as the staff at Springdale Country Manor for their care and compassion of Bob. In lieu of flowers donations to the Peterborough and District Sports Hall of Fame or the Charity of Your Choice would be appreciated by the family. Cremation has taken place and a Celebration of Life will be held at Ashburnham Funeral Home and Reception Centre, 840 Armour Rd., Peterborough, on Saturday, April 8th from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Online condolences can be made at www.ashburnhamfuneral.ca
