My sincerest condolences go out to the Deluca family for their loss. I had the pleasure of meeting Bob last summer. He was an incredible guy with amazing intellect, sharp wit, and a clear love of family and friends. He will clearly be missed.

To: Bob Deluca's Family
RJ was an Outstanding Naval Officer and a very humble man. I acted as his Yeoman of Signals in HMCS Huron. We spent many hours on the Bridge together he always looked after me ensuring that if I needed a coffee or a sandwich I got it. Years after when I was Chief of the Base or the Admiral's Chief he would always stop by to chat. Showed many of the pictures he had taken and I remember when he built his new home how proud of it he was with it dark room. It was a real pleasure to have had the honour to sail with him.

RIP Sailor we have the Watch.

Sometimes life takes us by surprise
To my friend who has just lost her Father not long after losing her Mom.I send you big hugs to get you through this time of healing

A spirit from Heaven came calling your Dad
But please try to understand they don't want you to be sad
Your Father was missing the one that he loved
And needed to see her and give her a hug
It's not without saying,he 'll be missed very much
But he knows you will be strong
And help each other and such
The Heavens gained blessings and sparkles and love
For that was he entrance
As he was welcomed above
Make sure to remember his love for you all
Will never be lessened
No never at all.
May you find in the coming days
Some part of him lingering
For each time you remember
A door knock will go to Heaven

Blessing to you & your Family Cheryl Masters

I met Captain Deluca when he was CO of Huron, and while conversing with him on the bridge of the ship in a heavy sea, discovered he did like to talk. I still recall the ambivalence of not wishing to rush away from the Captain, and knowing I had to leave quickly, or face the consequences of sea sickness.
He was a thoughtful, engaging person, who cared about people under his command.
To Robert's family, my heartfelt sympathy and gratitude for his welcome support.

I always remember growing up telling people about my successful uncle who spent his life in the Navy. Reading the obit on him it really opened my eyes to how successful he was in his naval career but with his family as well. He will be missed and to Cathy Cheryl and Diane, you should be very proud of your dad. Love Gavin, Daniella and Siena.

I first met Robert when I was a member of the Photographic Guild of Nova Scotia. Then in later years he was a guest at the Sackville Camera Club in which I was a member. He was as I remembered him, a true gentleman. But what I remember most about Robert was the love he had for his daughter. He was so proud of her and you could hear the love in his voice as he talked about her. I've never forgotten that. So my sincere condolences to the daughter of this remarkable man, and to her family. Robert's memory will live on in everyone who had the opportunity to know him.
