BOB & I WERE CLASSMATE AT TENNESSSEE HIGH IN THE CLASS OF 1950. HE GAVE ME MY FIRST AIRPLANE RIDE IN A STEARMAN AT AN AIRPORT NORTH OF BRISTOL. AS A RESULT I CONTINUED MY LOVE OF FLYING FOR A THIRTY YEAR CAREER FLYING FOR THE US NAVY. WE WIL;L ALL MISS 'BOBBY JO' AS I REMEMBRER HIS NICKNAME. MY CONDOLENCES TO HIS FAMILY! SINCERELY, WALTER BANKS, COMMANDER, USN-RETRIED.

Bob and I grew up together and went all the way through school together. Years later we both were in the navy. He was a pilot and I was a dental officer. His squadron came aboard for operations on the carrier on which I was serving. We learned about each other being on the same ship and we were together for that cruise. We started keeping up with each other until recently when his health went bad. He was a good friend and I can rejoice because of his faith in Jesus, he is free of pain and enjoying fellowshipping with His LORD.
