Robert Bobby Drayton

Robert B. Drayton was born August 8, 1928 in Boston, MA to William and Sarah Drayton. His earthly departure was Sunday, November 16, 2014, 8:23 AM at the Baton Rouge General Mid-City. Mr. Drayton is a former resident of Oakland, California and moved to Baton Rouge in January of 2000. He is a retired veteran of the United Stares Coast Guard. He leaves to cherish his fond memories of his life a son and daughter-in-law, Gilbert R. Nicholas and Charlene, Las Vegas, Nevada; two daughters, Mrs. Yolanda Douglas, Sacramento, California and Mrs. Carolyn James, Baker, LA; grandchildren, Staff Sgt. Jahmal Nicholas and wife Shirley, Guam, Terrance J. Watkins, Mrs. Stephanie Smith and husband Jerome, Las Vegas, Nevada, Sydnee Byrd, Oakland, CA, Evangelist Trena Richard, Minister Willie O. Richard, III and wife Tonia, Mrs. April Toussaint and husband Al, Dallas, TX, Randy Richard, Carlos Sweet and wife Tina, Oakdale, LA; nine great-grandchildren; brother and sister-in-law William and Mrs. Catherine Wright; nieces, Ms. Lynn C. Tucker and Mrs. Constance Williams friends and his extended family the Blakemore Avenue neighborhood. Visiting will be held Friday, November 21, 2014 9:30 AM until service time at 12 noon with Reverend Ronald A. Sutton presiding at Hall Davis and Son Funeral Service 9348 Scenic Hwy, Baton Rouge, LA. Interment will follow in Louisiana National Cemetery. Robert was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Evangelist Earline Tucker Drayton, his mother-in-law Mrs. Mary Merida, step-daughter, Pansy Elaine Richard Sweet, son-in-law Dr. Louis J. James, Sr. Hall Davis and Son Funeral Service in charge of arrangements.
