I was together with Dave Dopp this summer. We talked fondly about our memories of Bob. Dave kept saying, "I still can't believe he is gone".
There are two memories that I have thought about recently. Bob and I were selected as finalists for a scholarship in high school. Bob was so modest that he was sure that I would win the award. He was wrong. He was the winner. We were honored at a luncheon at Gance's Restaurant in Endicott.
Bob and I were playing intramural basketball in high school. Union Endicott high school wrestled away a head coach from Seton Catholic High School. The coach was there watching our game and zeroed in on Bob and me as potential future team members. Bob was a gifted athlete and eventually ended up playing varsity basketball for that coach.

Mr. Dutkowsky was always nice and comical. I loved how kind he was. He never made anyone uncomfortable and was always super sweet. He will be forever missed. He was a superman with so many amazing accomplishments.

Lorraine, I am so, so sad and sorry to hear about Bob's passing. He was one of our captains on our Cornell baseball team. He was a real leader. Whenever we had a reunion, even when years had passed, he always made us feel like we saw him yesterday.
Condolences to you and your family. Dave Johnson

Bob and I, along with Dave Dopp (who was kind enough to pass this unfortunate news to me), were classmates since elementary school. I had hoped to see Bob at our 50 year high school reunion last summer. He was always a class act and he and Lorraine were a dynamic couple. Bob was at the Naval Academy in 1975 for a Cornell baseball game and he found me in the field house shooting hoops, something that we had done together in the past. He caught me just in time, as I departed later that day for an exchange program with the French Naval Academy. I was so glad that he made the effort to find me. Stay strong, Lorraine. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. Sometimes life isn't fair and Bob had so much life left to live. Unfortunately I am teaching high school, and final exams are on the horizon. I would have been honored to attend his memorial service. I was proud to learn of all of his impressive accomplishments. Jim Ðranchak

Rob and I played baseball together at UE High School. He was the right fielder and I was the center fielder. Such a great guy and a great friend. His mother always gave me rides home from practice and games. So very sorry to hear this awful news. RIP my friend.

Lorraine and family, I am so sorry for the loss of Bob. While our intersection with you and Bob was just a brief time while we lived at Bellamy, you both were always kind and intentional with our family. I remember specific conversations with Bob about his work, golf, baseball. Praying for comfort and healing for you and family as you celebrate a life well lived.

I am Rob's cousin -- his father and my father are brothers. I grew up with Rob in the Binghamton area and even went to he and Lorraine's wedding there. As kids growing up, we played a lot at either of our parents' houses. And also as a second child, I hung out with Rob a fair amount at family gatherings. I remember Rob as highly personable, caring, a great thinker on his feet, and funny as heck. This includes Rob's hilarious imitation of Bobby Kennedy, at least until RFK was assassinated. Certainly college and life inevitably created distance. I enjoyed reading about Rob's astonishing professional success over the years. And his very personable nature apparently never left him, from what I read and from seeing him at his Mom's wake. I also knew about his very real dedication and devotion to his Lorraine, their children and grandchildren, which also doesn't surprise me. Such a enormously sad loss of a wonderful human being. I trust that he is again with his venerable Mom and Dad, my Aunt Marge and Uncle Ed.

Bob and his family lived in Westboro for just a few years but left a legacy of generosity, kindness and involvement in our community. On a personal level, Bob was willing to help young people find their way in the business world. He will be missed.

I was blessed to take care of Robs Mom for several years. Rob would come to see her while passing through the area of his home town on many job assignments as well as come to meet with his other family members for Holidays and special occasions. Rob and his entire family filled the house with laughter and joy, sharing memories and jokes. Rob and I connected on a love for Florida, beautiful weather, great restaurants and I would pick his brain on crypto or investments ideas.
I had no idea how incredibly admired and respected he was in his professional career, however it is completely understandable as his nature, outlook, personality..love for family and life was infectious. He will be missed beyond measure.. I wish Lorraine, Kevin and Jennifer strength and peace through this incredibly difficult time.
I pray that he has joined his Mom and Dad and they are off on adventures. Bless you Rob

I am so grateful to have had the opportunity to care for you all at PCGC. You have become like a second family to me, and it has been a blessing to witness the love and support you have for one another. I am confident that your heart will soon be filled with fond memories of the joyful times you shared together, and I hope that you will continue to find strength in each other as you celebrate a life well lived.
