I worked for Bob when he ran the Stratford and Danbury package centers. In operations, he was one of those guys you would be in awe of. Everyone, and especially the drivers respected him. For me, his professional and unpretentious commanding (sometimes tough) presence, made a lasting impression on me. I became a better a leader because of Bob. If you were honest, took responsibility, and worked hard, he more than had your back. I wrecked my car one time and he let me borrow a truck for as long as I needed it. We played golf many times and he never took it lightly. (he mostly beat me) I remember enjoying dinners with him and Marge in Wallingford. I have never forgotten the positive impact he made on my life, and I never will. Thank you Bob for all you did for me.

I first knew Bob as Mr. Dwyer and he seemed like he could have been one of my dad’s brothers with the same sense of humor and oft-grumpy disposition. As the years went by and I grew up, I was corrected to call him Bob. Having read his bio, I can see even more why he and my dad got along so well as they had so much in common.

I know my folks enjoyed traveling with Bob (and Marge) as well as the yearly Christmas-time dinners and such. The stories from those times were always great.

I speak for all the Corless’s when I say Bob will be missed and you’re all in our hearts and prayers.

Bob was the head of UPS Security at the Hartford Center and had me go see him as the Union Representative,in that they had caught some part time employees re-labeling packages, sending them to another address. It was all electronics stacked all over Bob's office, that had been recovered at the bogus address so he mentioned the employees involved and their termination. After listening to how they were caught ,then got up to leave and told Bob we in the union didn't hire those 3 part timers the company did, which made Bob chuckle

Bob and I worked together at UPS for many years. We remained good friends after we both retired as well. He was a true partner in business and always willing to help and advice his fellow managers. We attended quite a few UPS luncheons with retirees together too. RIP Bob, I am sure Marge is glad to have you back by her side.
