Dear Mrs. Cisowski,
I wish I had learned about this earlier, I came across it only by looking for Polish Christmas carols. I was humming Bog Sie Rodzi for some time when I found this very tragic thing that happened to your poor son. I can't help but cry myself over it; I also have a son, for me to even imagine your pain is unthinkable enough. How very hard it must be to not lose yourself to anger against those who caused this tragedy. Breath, just breath, slow and deep. Today I will say a full Chaplet of the Divine Mercy for peace for you and your family, and for Robert’s soul to be in a good place, even though I believe he has already walked with Our Lord.
God Bless and Keep You,
Mariola and Eric Abramczuk

I didn't know you personally, but you represent something greater than us all, a struggle that we're all involved in. Your life was so tragically cut short, your death unfortunate, and no doubt you would have had so much more to offer. Hopefully your death can bring about a change and make things better in this world. Goodnight good sir and may your memory and all the good times live on.

I am so sorry for your loss. Please accept this that was once given to me. May you find some solace in it.
Death is nothing at all…
I have only slipped away into the next room, I am I and you are you.
Whatever we were to each other that we are still. Call me by my old familiar name, speak to me in the easy way which you always used. Put no difference into your tone; wear no forced air of solemnity or sorrow. Laugh as we always laughed at the little jokes we enjoyed together. Play, smile, think of me, pray for me.
Let my name be ever the household word that it always was. Let it be spoken without effort, without the ghost of a shadow on it. Life means all that it ever meant. It is the same as it ever was; there is absolutely unbroken continuity.
What is this death but a negligible accident?
Why should I be out of mind because I am out of sight? I am waiting for you for an interval, somewhere very near, just around the corner.
All is well.

I'm sure I'm not alone in saying that Mr. Dziekanski is in my thoughts. To his mother, may there be small solace in the public outpouring of compassion and outrage in response to his death.
