Robert D. Estrada

Robert D. Estrada, 72, of Troy, passed away on Monday, March 20, 2017, at Lincoln County Nursing and Rehab in Troy.
He was born on May 17,1944, in Oakland, Calif. to Armando and Adline (Rodriguez) Estrada.
Robert grew up surrounded by his loving family of eight siblings. He was raised by his mother Adline and his wonderful step-father Toby Montoya.
After graduating from the local school, Robert went on to attend University of California-San Jose. He later started working as an Electronic Tech at the Sytrom Corp. Robert was a self-starter and was willing to try any job or challenge that came his way.
In 1970 he met Hazel (Hudspeth) and daughter Melissa, they were later married and to this union were born two daughters, Lana and Christina. He raised his family in California until the early 1980's when they moved to Missouri. Robert loved music! He was so proud of the different bands that he was in and played bongos and guitar. Robert loved race cars, but most of all spending time with his family and friends. For the last few years, Robert was known as "Roberto" at Lincoln County Nursing and Rehab. He made many friends there with the residents, staff and visitors and could always be counted on few a smile and a kind word.
He is survived by his children, stepdaughter, Melissa Ijmes, of O'Fallon, Lana and husband Brian Schmiehausen, of St. Louis, Christina and husband Richard Turner, of Elsberry; four grandchildren, William Beatovich, Richard Turner, Matthew Hudspeth and Cody Arella; three great-grandchildren, Deon Beatovich, Blake Beatovich, Ryder Beatovich, siblings, Phyllis Lovato, of Madisonville, Ky., John Armando Estrada, of California, Phillip S. Estrada, of California, Beatrice A. Smith, of Minn., Steven S. Estrada of California, and Christopher Montoya, of California and many other relatives and friends.
Robert was preceded in death by his parents and two siblings, Inez Montoya and Irene Kuehn.
Visitation will be held on Friday, March 24, 2017, from 5-7 p.m. at McCoy-Blossom Funeral Homes and Crematory 1304 Boone Street Troy.
Memorial Service will be held on Friday, March 24, 2017, at 7 p.m. McCoy-Blossom Funeral Homes and Crematory 1304 Boone Street Troy. Father Tom Wissler officiated.
Memorials can be made to Lincoln County Nursing and Rehab Activity Fund (special meal for residents) in care of the funeral home.
