Robert Ettleman

Robert Eugene "Huxley" Ettleman passed away on June 6, 2025, in West Valley City, Utah, at the age of 90. Born on September 14, 1934, in Florence, Colorado, he lived a long and full life marked by service, resilience, and a deep appreciation for family and the outdoors.

Robert proudly served in the United States Army from 1953 to 1956, with assignments in Korea and Hawaii. His time in the military reflected his dedication to duty and country during a pivotal era in American history.

A man of many interests, Robert found joy in fishing, traveling, cooking, camping, gardening, and genealogy. Whether casting a line into a quiet stream or tending to his garden, he embraced life's simple pleasures with enthusiasm. His passion for genealogy reflected a deep respect for heritage and family history-values that he carried throughout his life.

Robert was a 14-year cancer survivor whose strength and perseverance inspired those around him. His journey through illness was marked by courage and determination.

He is survived by his wife Anna Huntley Ettleman; his children Victor Ettleman, Julie Ettleman Ulrich, and Jeffrey Ettleman; as well as numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren who carry forward his legacy.

He was preceded in death by his father John Ettleman; mother Mamie Sample Ettleman; brother Wayne Ettleman; sister Fern Ettleman Orr; and his first wife Betty Gonion Ettleman, the mother of his children.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Cancer Society in Robert's memory.
