Robert J. "Bob" Feldbauer

ANGELICA - Robert J. "Bob" Feldbauer, 90, of 83 Mechanic St., passed away peacefully Saturday (Jan. 24, 2015) with his family by his side.

Born on March 28, 1924, in Angelica, a son of Harry and Viola Graham Feldbauer, he resided in Angelica all of his life.

Bob served in the U.S. Navy from 1942 to 1946, including during World War II. Bob worked at Turbodine/Dresser-Rand until his retirement in 1986.

On Sept. 28, 1947, he married Doris Rowe Feldbauer, who survives.

Bob was known for his strong, quiet spirit. He will be remembered as a hardworking family man and skilled craftsman.

Bob belonged to the Angelica United Methodist Church and was an active member of the Angelica community. Bob served as a volunteer firefighter from 1946 to 1967, deputy mayor for several years and acting mayor for one year.

Bob was active with the Boy Scouts of America as well as American Legion Post 414.

The Pittsburg, Shawmut and Northern Railroad held a special place in Bob's heart. He donated many hours of time working on projects dedicated to preserving the railroad's heritage.

Bob was a car enthusiast who shared his passion for cars with his son, Jeff. Bob loved working on his 1932 Ford pickup and drove it in the Angelica bicentennial parade.

He is survived by his wife; his daughter, Susan DeRock; two brothers, James and Harry "Skip" Feldbauer; a daughter-in-law, Sue Feldbauer; six grandchildren, Shelly (Scott) Daniel, Jeanine (Chris) Rose, Aaron Feldbauer, Danielle DeRock, Darcelle (Jeff) Hyslip and Darren DeRock; nine great-grandchildren, Braxton and Harper Rose, Cody (Brittany) Scholes, Devan, Dylan and Carson Harrington, Jaden and Ashden Hyslip and Madison DeRock; and many nieces and nephews.

Bob was predeceased by his parents; a son, Jeffrey L. Feldbauer; two siblings, Jerome Feldbauer and Frances Hurd Feldbauer; a son-in-law, C. Gary DeRock; and two sisters-in-law, Carolyn Murray Feldbauer and Mardy Baker Feldbauer.

The family will be present for visiting hours at 11 a.m. Wednesday (Jan. 28, 2015) at the Angelica United Methodist Church, with a memorial service following at noon.
