Dear Fernandez Family,
I just found out about Dr. Fernandez; I am so sorry. I will always remember his smile, his laugh and how much joy he brought being with friends & family. I hope all of you are well

Mrs. Fernadez,
I am so sorry to find out about Dr. Fernandez passing...I never met your husband personally, but I had the pleasure of treating some of his patients, whom he referred to me. Although we never met, he always made me feel like I was one of his friends, because of his informal and warm, yet professional touch.
Not too long ago, I called your house because I wanted to share with him the good news of opening my Periodontal practice.
I know for sure he will always be remembered and appreciated.
God Bless,
Nora Delgado-Velasquez, D.D.S.

Dear Vivian, Priscilla and I just learned of Bob's untimely passing and we wanted you and the family to know how sorry we are for your loss. We remember Bob fondly and recall his big smile and the great joy he took in your home across the canal from us on Davis Islands.
We hope you will be sustained by the wonderful memories that Bob leaves behind.

Dr. Fernandez Family,
Our thoughts and prayers are with the family through this difficult time. Dr. Fernandez shared many laughs and travel memories with us over the years. Katarina has memories to treasure of a dentist who had a car parked inside his office and handed out McDonalds coupons. Pretty awesome memory for a five year old. I will treasure the million dollar smile and heartfelt laugh as Dr. Fernandez entered a room. He brought such joy to all. May God Bless

Dear Vivian and Family~
Heaven has a new angel. I remember so fondly my most enjoyable conversations with Bob while my Son was so blessed to have Vivian tutor him. I felt that if you looked up "soulmate" in the dictionary- there would be a portrait of Bob and Vivian. His smile and happy demeanor always made me smile. The memories he made for so many of us will never be forgotten. May God bring you peace and support in your heart and spirit.

Our thoughts and prayers are with you all during this difficult time.
You have our very deepest sympathy.

(Vivian, although we have not seen each other much over the years, I always thought of you and Bobby as very dear friends. We had some really great times in the "old days". Bobby was such a kind, fun loving and jovial young man and remained so, I know. He was always so kind and helpful to all. My heart breaks for you and hope that the many years of wonderful memories you have had with him will always keep him close to you and in your heart. Much Love, Dolly)

Dear Viv, Jen & Jason:
I will forever remember Jim Bob for his hearty chuckle, his rosy cheeks, his sockless feet, his metiulous closet, his european swimwear, his bearded face, his love of wine & culture, his great taste (with the exception of the European swimwear), his sarcasm and his desire for knowledge. I feel so lucky that in the last year (helping with the restaurant), I've had the opportunity to talk with him more than ever before.
Cia, Jim Bob! I already miss you!
Love you guys!!

To the Fernandez Family may God bless you and give you strength in this difficult time. My name is Abram George and I was a patient of Dr Fernandez and a student of his wife at Plant. He would always greet me and my sister with that big smile and a warm hug. Dr Fernandez not only checked our teeth, but also made sure that we were doing good in school,he will truly be missed !
January 8, 2010
My heart is so broken, however, a bit jealous that Dr. Fernandez will be able to "chill-lax" with my parents (Al and Mike) in the world we will all know (hopefully).
I am sending our love to all of Dr. Fernandez's family...and letting you know how special he was to ALL of us.
Knowing "The Dr." / Viv / Myra ...just for starters....was enough, but then we were blessed to meet all of the wonderful family we came to love and watch grow up.
I (We - not too many of us left) love you all and apologize for not being present during the formalities.
Please know Dr. Fernandez will be well looked after and will be loved forever -

To the Fernandez Family - our condolences on your great loss, and our prayers for strength in this difficult time. Mrs. Fernandez (Ms. Vivian) Jason, Jennifer, and the entire Fernandez Family.
My deepest symapathies for the loss of a great man, Dr Fernandez was one of a kind.
He was a great teacher, a pretty good student, (when we tried to teach him new technology at the office.) a good listener, and my southern father.
His boisterous laugh, his singing to the 70's music, and his distinct voice will be forever missed.
When Dr. Fernandez was in the office you made sure you were not on an automated call as his voice over road everything and the automated teller would always say " Sorry I did not understand your response"
I can remember my first year living in Tampa and it was coming upon the holidays. Dr Fernandez said to me "you will be coming to our house for Thanksgiving and Christmas because you are now a part of our "family" The Fernandez family made my first holidays away from home just like they were back home, surrounded by family and friends.
Dr Fernandez lived his life the way he wanted and the way many of us wish we could, to the fullest. "And in the end, it is not the years in your life that counts. Its the LIFE in your years. (Abe Lincoln) Dr Fernandez had a lot of life in his 67 years.
I will miss you. Rest In Peace. Dr Fernandez.

I haven't seen you two in so many years, yet I have such wonderful memories of all the fun times in school and the many years we all hung out together as married couples. I was saddened to hear of the passing of Dr. Fernandez. He was my number one Oral-B account when I was his rep. He always had a smile on his face and always took the time to say hello and many times I would treat him to lunch at one of the many Tampa restaurants. The child proof VW car he had in the waiting area was awesome, just like he was. I respected him as a great pediatric dentist and he spoke about his family with love. My sincere sympathy to his wife, children and family. God Bless

Hello, my name is Raquel Ruiz and as a mother I would like to share with you my story, that took place back in 1990. My son Javier Ruiz Jr. then 7 years old, was a young patient of Dr. Fernandez and stayed with him until he turned 18 years old. Somewhere around July 4, 1990 my son was ready to have braces put on and we had made an appointment for a consultation visit. When we arrived at 4:00 pm Dr. Fernandez came out into the lobby and briefly spoke to us about what we might expect throughout the course of Javier’s orthodontic treatment. I told the doctor to please do whatever was necessary and to start the process that night. Two hours had passed, all the magazines were put away and the little Volkswagen car was wiped down clean, but no signs of my son. All of a sudden Dr. Fernandez came out followed by my son who had a mouth full of gauze and a look that could kill. My son was so mad at me, because Dr. Fernandez had to pull out 7 baby teeth in order to prepare him for the braces. We all had to laugh...there was so much gauze in his mouth he couldn’t speak, he just stared.
It is memories like this that I will always cherish! Dr. Fernandez was unique and special. He will be missed.

Aunt Vivian, Jennifer and Jason,
I am so sad for the loss of Uncle Bob. He always encouraged me as a child when school was difficult and Aunt Vivian was helping me for hours and I never thought I would get it. The times at the beach when we were being roudy and all Uncle Bob had to do was look at us over his glasses. He has encouraged my boys right along with Aunt Vivian. After hearing of his passing, my world temporarily stopped for a second. Dr. Fernandez was one of the greatest men that I have ever known. He always brought such life and cheer to the building, and it seemed that he would light up whatever room he was in. Dr. Fernandez, I remember the first time I met you, and I will remember it forever. Being a patient at this dentistry was such a great experience, and having you as my dentist was an even better one. I've grown up with you, I've changed with you, and I just can't imagine doing so without you. You've seen me mature from a naive 6th grader to the sophomore that I am now. I miss you, and forever will miss you. You will not be forgotten Doc. I extend my condolences to all of your family.

Peter, Matt and I were so shocked and saddened to hear about Dr. Fernandez's passing. I had seen him just the day before when he pulled me aside and spoke to me about his thoughts on Matt. He took a real interest in the kids that Vivian tutored. Although I had only spoken to him a few times, it was obvious that he was very devoted to his family and wife. He told me of Vivian's dedication to the kids that she taught, and his respect for her was so apparent. May God's Peace be with all of you.

I had the pleasure of knowing the family on so many different levels. My mother (Aida Calderoni) was friends with Myra and Frank and Vivian and Bobby as well as having him as the best dentist in the world. I was a scared little girl when I met Dr. Fernandez for the first time and his smile and laughter made me just want to hug him...which we always did. My brothers and I would always have water wars in the office with the water pics and he would never truly be angry at us...just laugh!! Vivian always looked over us at Plant and I recently saw him at Bernin's with Jason, with that same smile on his face and the arms outstretched to hug. He was an amazing person and I have a profound sense of sadness in my heart. I know he will be sharing a glass of wine with my mom while looking down on us all from heaven. God Bless!!
