Bob was one of my best friends at Penn State. We were both in the Mechanical Engineering program, but Bob was the scholar and I was the one he helped limp through. We parted ways when he graduated on time in 1958 and I had to come back for one more semester to pass Thermo without him. A lasting amusing memory is how Bob sometimes chose to spell his last name phonetically—“ghoti”. I mourn his passing, listed in my latest copy of the “Pennstater”, but treasure his friendship for those important PSU years. Tom Eyerly St. Augustine, Fl.

Dear Madge, Doug, Dianne, Madeleine, and Caitlin,
We are so incredibly sorry about Bob's passing. We have many wonderful, happy memories of family holidays together with all of you. Bob was such a kind, generous, and accomplished man...happy to share his wealth of knowledge on a variety of subjects. And he had the best laugh! We will cherish the memories of our great conversations with him, the fun we had at family gatherings, and watching him beam with pride as he spoke of his family. Wishing you all peace and comfort in the days ahead.
With love,
Helene ('Chip') & Jordan Fenger

Old Saybrook was lucky to have Bob! Bob was truly dedicated to the town and we had many good times, memories, and laughs planning Chamber events together being on the board at the same time. And then in town hall together.
He’s a tough act to follow, but we can all try!

Madge and family, I am so sorry for your loss. Bob was a great man and I thoroughly enjoyed my dealings with him over the years whether it was bumping into him at town hall or as a member of a land use board. You are in our thoughts and prayers. Sincere condolences. Joe Wren & Family

Bob was one of the most genuine people I have ever met. He cared deeply about Old Saybrook and about the environment. He worked tirelessly to protect and stand up for what he believed in. The Great Cedars Conservation Area is forever preserved, thanks in large part to Bob. I am honored to have known him.
Rest in peace, Bob.

Sincere and deep sympathies to your family. Bob was a wonderful man and a great inspiration to me. While I was a good student it perplexed me as to why I failed the understanding of geometry. It was in adult Ed, Middlesex community college when I took an algebra class with Mr fish. That in 20 minutes he somehow miraculously got me to understand geometry through the process of the height of a tree. Such a kind and humble spirit and soul. So thankful that he entered and added such value to my life. May you find peace and happiness in all the stories you will share

Mrs. Fish, Doug and family, we are so sorry to hear of Mr. Fish’s passing. I certainly have very found memories of Bob spanning from my childhood during football games throughout adulthood seeing him all around town. He was a very special and kind person who I’m thankful to have known and considered a friend. With sincere condolences. Jeff and Paige True

Condolences to the Fish family from the Maynard's. Bob's institutional knowledge is what kept Old Saybrook running like a finely tuned machine. Bob and Madge both have served our community in volunteer roles for multiple decades. Rest in peace Bob - thank you for your dedication to Old Saybrook.
