In memory of
Janet Durfee
April 6, 2005
Bob was a well known patient of ours at the VA. He was a true gem. He was such an awesome patient to take care of! He had a way of making us all smile. He was a tough man, with a great spirit and he maintained a positive outlook through some tough health struggles.
We are so saddened that he is no longer with us. He will be missed.

Bob was my "second brother" and like a brother I loved him and miss him. He and his family were in my thoughts every holiday, birthday (which he shared with my brother, Richard) and picnic times. His laughter and wonderful spirit were a blessing to all. He will be missed .

This is to the skinny little boy that lived on top the hill on 6th Street (Minneapolis). Bob's parents (Faye and Norm) and our parents were best of friends and always getting together for Oupi Soupi (old-time dancing). The story goes that my dad had trouble addressing his mom because her nickname was "Honey" and he was afraid to call her that! My sister, Judy Lange, did run into Bob several years ago and was able to reminisce about our parents and the old times!
Losing a parent is very difficult, ours passed at the age of 54 (Mom) and 63 (Dad), many years ago. Our sympathy to you in your loss of your father and friend. Val Northway

I met Bob when I joined Minnesota Mortgage Options as a loan officer. He will always be in my memory as a smiling, fun loving guy with more "wonderful" stories then anyone I've know. He was always willing to help myself and others, no matter what time of day. I can speak for myself and others in the group when I say Bob was always a ray of light, no matter where we were and he'll be deeply missed by many, and all that knew him. My prayers are with those he left behind and tears of happiness are shed for those who have gone on before him, for he will bring them happiness as well. He'll not be forgotten.

Bob will always be remembered as The Neon Slide. With his neon lime green ski outfit and flashy smile, and endless jokes he brightened the ski trips to France, Italy and all of Europe. I remember laughing for hours on end at his Olle and Lina jokes. He was the best joke teller I've ever known. It is hard to believe our friend and ski buddy is gone. He will be sorely missed. My sympathies to his family, especially his Deena and Paul (he spoke highly of you two, and always proudly showed us your pictures) and his great Minnesota friends- Richard, Bob W., Mike L., Mark P.and Dave and Arnt. I know he has a whole new audience now to tell his jokes to.

Bob was such a sweetheart; truly one-of-a-kind. He and my brother, Richard, were best friends for over 50 years. They were so close - like two sides of a coin. Through the years, my sisters and I came to think of Bob as our second brother. It was always a highlight if I heard he was going to be with us at a family gathering. And going out for lunch with him.... gosh, it was nothing but laughter the whole time. Bob's passing has left a big hole in the heart of our family. We loved him and will miss him so much.

My Dad, my hero, my best friend. With a beautiful mind and an open heart he lived each moment to it's pinnacle. He has left a footprint behind that will guide my steps forever. He will be with me in every moment I make for the rest of my life. I love you Dad.
