I have so many fond memories of the house on county barn road with Patty and her dad!! He was always kind and gentle even when we were doing things we weren’t supposed to. We took rides in the old cars, rode horses, went gigging frogs.Bob was always close by and up for adventure. He could fix everything on the house and then make a great dinner. I thought he was super dad!!! I’m so sorry i missed the service. Thinking of you Patty and your family. He will certainly be missed. He was one of a kind!! Sending love and prayers!

Bob Flick was a remarkable man whom I met over 20 years ago when we both played tennis with a neighborhood group at McLeod Park in Everglades City. Anyone at any level in the community could come out and play; no rules, we just enjoyed playing tennis. Bob with his daughter Patty had purchased the abandoned Bank of Everglades Building. Being interested in our history, I was pleased to watch as they transformed the historic building into a stunning Bed & Breakfast in 1998. For nearly 20 years the building was used as a B&B until 2017 when it was left unoccupied. Preserving our history and culture was always important to Bob who, after he was unable to sell the building, was determined to restore it. I would stop by the bank building and observe him knocking down interior walls and asking for early photos. Eventually, when he realized it was too difficult to do this on his own, Bob donated the Bank Building to the Everglades Society for Historic Preservation which has recently received federal funding to rehabilitate the building as the Everglades Area Visitor Center and Trail Town Headquarters with a gift shop, art gallery, historical library, and conference room. Bob's only request when he donated the building was that the film "Wind Across the Everglades" would be shown. The original bank vault will be named the "Bob Flick Theater" and visitors will be able to see the movie in which Bob played an extra. The Everglades Society for Historic Preservation will be eternally grateful to Bob for his generosity and dedication to keeping our history alive. Thank you, Bob. I will always remember our talks and your hard work.

Thinking of you today Bob during your celebration. Your blue eyes, deep with wisdom, a knowing laugh and wise patience, were always a thing of beauty. Your hair maybe not so much! Thank you for allowing our family to be part of your life. You are missed, but your presence on earth will live on in our stories of great bass, even better land and wild ponies. Rest on peace Bob. So Patty and I were leaving her house on County Barn Road, late teen's, early 20's perhaps, and Patty decides she can teach me to drive a stick. We didn't get a quarter of a mile down the road and I ended up in the ditch. I thought, we have to go and get her Dad. (No, there were NOT cell phones back then). I was afraid he was going to be so mad! Patty, always positive and upbeat, kept that persona. Nope, Bob Flick did what he always did. He looked at you, no words, and took care of the situation. If I'm not mistaken, with a smirk on his face. He was a 'Dad' above all, loved his family and so down to earth. I'm glad I got to see him last year before he left for GA. Prayers you are at peace, with a healthy mind and soul.

Bob's passing of Natural causes perhaps was one of the few thing that might of been conventional or natural in his life. The caricature he was. His thoughts and processes were quite unique and sometimes unconventional. But that worked for him and that's what made Bob," Bob".
Love Ya Bob.
And we shall continue to have these conversations.

Our hearts and prayers are with Darrell, Tim, and Patty. We loved both your mom and dad, wonderful, such good people!! My sister (Nancy) and I used to get to babysit all of you from time to time, you are such a beautiful family. May God bless all of you and know your dad (and mom) are united in Heaven. We are away or would be at the Funeral memorial service. With sympathy and love, Joanne Rossi Stahlman & Mark Stahlman
