Eva Lindsey Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Feb. 18, 2016.
1928 ~ 2016
Eva Earlene Loader Lindsey passed away Sunday, February 14, 2016. She was born July 8, 1928, at home in Pleasant Grove, Utah, to Earl and Eva Loader. She was the mother of three sons: Craig, who preceded her in death, Todd (Michelle) and Brett (Heidee), seven grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. Married Myrl Lindsey(deceased) in 1946, later divorced. Earlene, AKA Eva, depending on the setting, was most proud of her family. She often stated that you can only be as happy as your saddest child and truly felt that way. She worked until she was 82 years old as a switchboard operator, last at LDS Hospital. She so loved her sisters: Jeanne Alldredge (Deceased), Dot Smith, and Barbara Baxter, their husbands and their children.
She was so grateful to everyone who assisted her during the last few days of her life when she could only speak a couple words without tiring, she would always thank those caring for her. She so appreciated her good neighbors in Holladay who kept an eye on her and her dear friend who always seemed to know what to say to calm her when she was stressed. Our family is so grateful to the extended family, doctors, nurses and aides who provided such good care for her. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.
Funeral services will be held Friday, February 19, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. in the Olpin Family Mortuary Chapel, 494 South 300 East, Pleasant Grove. Family and friends may attend a visitation one hour prior to the services. Interment will be in the Pleasant Grove City Cemetery. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.olpinmortuary.com

I have been trying to get in touch with Eva by phone this last year, but was unsuccessful. Eva befriended me at LDS hospital when I was a volunteer at the front desk. She suggested that I apply for work at the call center for the hospital, which I did. It was wonderful working with Eva. I always found her to be very kind and welcoming, and we had many good moments together as we shared our life's experiences with one another. She was a very special and refined lady. I know that she was a very loving mother and grandmother. She appreciated her many friends, and especially her very loving boyfriend, Ron, who was so devoted to her, and called her every day, as well as being a wonderful companion in every way. I will miss her, knowing she has passed on from this earthly existence, but so grateful that our paths did pass several years ago. I extend my deepest condolences to her immediate family. She was always so proud of all of you. With love, Emily Miles-Birtcher.

I am sorry for your loss. Eva was a beautiful, grand lady, soft spoken and always gracious. Working with her at LDS Hospital on the switchboard was a delight. She had great work ethics. She loved her family very much and was very proud of them. Everyone who knew her will miss her.

Eva was always the sweetest lady. I loved her dearly. Every single day, she'd pull me aside and ask me to make her bed because she always thought I did it the best. We laughed like best friends and she told me almost everything about her life. I'll miss her so much!

I was so sorry to hear of Eva's passing.
I had the privilege of working with Eva as an operator at LDS Hospital. She was a wonderful friend and I will miss her very much. From day one Eva made me feel so comfortable and was so kind and helpful if I had any questions at work or in my life.
She was a real lady with a soft, sweet voice and she always took pride in her dress and looked so nice.
Eva would always talk about how proud she was of her family and how much she loved them.
I pray for His spirit to be with Eva's family during this difficult time and until they meet again.
