Dad, I will never forget the one and only hero in my life. Always and forever. I love and miss you so very much. You are in my thoughts, prayers and heart each and every day. I so wish I could talk to you. Love you forever.

Holy that photo of Matt's dad is Matt! I have never seen a young photo of him, and it is now painfully clear that Matt is indeed his son.
Even though I spent a ton of time at the Gagnon household getting into trouble with Matt, I confess I didn't know "Mr. Gagnon" all that well. We would walk into the house and he would be there in the dining room or the living room and he would have some kind words for us or try to embarrass his son in some way, and then we would retreat to the basement for a "throw everything you can find" fight or some other nonsense that young boys do. We all thought we were so sneaky and cool and there was no way Matt's parents knew what we were up to, but as a parent now, it is painfully clear that parents ALWAYS know what you are up to and choose when to interfere. It amazes me to this day that Mr. and Mrs. Gagnon tolerated us!
While I didn't know him well (but then again who really knows their friends parents WELL) what I do know is that he must have been a great man and father to have raised such a great son in Matt (sorry to Matt's siblings, I am sure you are great too!) Thanks Mr. Gagnon for allowing us to have a great childhood together! I hope you and my Dad are living it up together up there! I imagine the trouble you two could get into would put Matt and my shenanigans to shame!
My best to the family during this time. I am truly sorry for your loss.
