Robert L. Garramone

Robert L. Garramone of River Forest, IL, died Sept. 28, 2006. He was 85. Beloved husband of Dorothy B. Garramone, nee Blaha, of River Forest; loving father of Robert S. Garramone of Westfield, IN, Suzanne L. Garramone of San Francisco, CA, and Dorothy Ann G. House of Oak Park, IL; cherished grandfather of Nicholas and Natalie House of Oak Park. Born in Chicago on April 27, 1921, Bob was a longtime resident of Morrison, IL, where he worked as manager of purchasing for General Electric for many years prior to his retirement in 1983. He played football for Northwestern University and graduated from Northern Illinois State Teachers College with a Bachelor's Degree in Education. During World War II, he served in the Army Air Corps, training pilots on Link trainers. A private memorial service will be held Oct. 3, at Grace Lutheran Church in River Forest.
