Robert German Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Mar. 22, 2014.
Robert "Robbie" German was born in Burlington, Ontario to Tim and Debbie German. They moved to Florida with his family when he was 5. He played soccer in middle and high school, graduated from Lake Mary High in 2001 and studied business on a scholarship at South Georgia College. Robbie took a job in airport operations that involved contact with security and police, and he realized that he wanted to become an officer. He thought it would be rewarding to help keep a community safe. Robbie graduated from the police-academy in 2007. He was hired by the Windermere Police Department in 2008. Robbie was one of the best officers in the Town of Windermere. A town with a population of about 2,600 people known for its lakefront property, low crime and secluded location. Smart, dedicated and eager, Officer Robert German could have opted to join a large Central Florida police department and climb the ranks. But Robbie loved the little southwest Orange County town of Windermere. He wanted to make a difference in people's lives; he was dedicated to the people of Windermere and well respected thru-out Windermere. Robbie was a devoted son, brother, friend and his dedication to excellence and quick with a smile and ready to help those in need. He was eager to assist others no matter what the assignment and without complaint. Robbie devotion to his family and friends and his dedication to excellence and service as a police officer is a shining example that all should aspire to. Robbie is survived by his mother Debbie; father Tim, sisters, Kelly German and Kimmy German and many other family members and friends whose lives he touched. Donations can be made to the Robert German Memorial Foundation.
