Mr. Gilbert was a great educator. He really strived to connect with us students. He had a wonderful sense of humor which we needed to break up the dreaded high school days. My friends and I still speak fondly of Mr. Gilbert and will always cherish our high school memories! Thanks for everything Gilby.

Rest in Peace My Friend. Proud to have been your friend and colleague for many years. You were special Mr. Gilbert. Your students may not remember all that you said, but they will always remember how you made them feel. That is: important, worthy, and able to meet their challenges. Bless You.

Mr. Gilbert was one of my favorite teachers at Shaler. I loved being in his class. We had plenty of laughs during class too. Changing the clock on the wall was our best prank ever!! Me & Chute eventually fessed up to you. Great teacher and great guy! You will be missed. Rest in Peace.
