GREENSBORO — Robert Blair Goodman, 57, of Greensboro, died August 7, at Hospice Home at High Point.
Born and raised in Greensboro, Blair was a proud Grimsley graduate. He went on to Western Carolina University, where he played on the tennis team and earned a bachelor's degree in business administration.

Blair was so proud of his daughters, Carey and Bess, and their accomplishments. He loved all the many soccer trips in his blue Suburban, traveling to games and tournaments for Twisters, Grimsley, Duke and Sewanee. Time spent with his kids was his greatest joy.

Laura, Carey and Bess, One has the good fortune to meet wonderful people sometimes through their children's acitivities. we count your family as one of the memorable families that we have met through soccer. We have so cherished our Sewanee soccer games and we always knew that Laura and Balr would be there supporting the team. The interest that Blair had in each of the players was so special. He was the team's greatest fan and he knew how to make every player feel special. He also went the extra mile to always help others. Please know that our thoughts are with you and your family. With our love,

Judy,Laura,girls and brothers,
I grieve with you at the loss of Blair. We were kindergarten buddies, went to church together all the way through High School. I fondly remember many youth retreats, MYF events, even Vacation Bible School with Blair. We swam at Hamilton pool. Blair was an all around wonderful guy. In the last few years I had seen him on a few occasions - he was full of his pure love and joy for his family- wife , daughters, brothers and MOM.
I am sad I missed the funeral and was unable to speak to you face to face- I have been away. Please accept my sincerest synpathy
I will keep you in my prayers

Blair was a friend of mine from Kiser and Grimsley. Even before then, I remember Blair from the basketball leagues at the Y.i ran cross country at Grimsley and Blair was our captain our senior year. He was everyone's friend and ALWAYS had a smile and encouraging word for everyone. My deepest sympathy for your loss. Blair certainly lived up to his last name as he was a very GOOD MAN.

Blair was a friend of mine both at Kiser and Grimsley. At Grimsley, we often went to lunch together off campus with another friend, David Moore. Blair was one of the nicest, good-hearted people around. Just in the past few years we re-acquainted as he would purchase flowers from my florist for the Duke women's basketball players when they came to Greensboro for the ACC Tournament. He was always so pleasant and appreciative of the work we did for him. Please accept my deepest sympathy on the loss of Blair.

Bess, Carey, and Laura,
We are so sorry for your loss. As freshman parents at Sewanee last year we felt a little overwhelmed and Blair was always there for us offering a smile, nice words and really tried to get to know us. He was very supportive of Megan also. We will miss him so much at the games on the mountain. He obviously touched a lot of lives and just wanted to let you know that ours were touched as well.
You all have and will be in our prayers and we will see you soon.

Laura, Bess, & Carey: First I am so sorry for your loss. Blair was one of the most dedicated men to anything that he participated in. When he talked with me about his girls, that is all three of you and he would just beamed. Such an encourager and always saying YOU CAN DO IT. He has touched so many lives and will remain in our hearts forever. Julia Sheppard & family
