Dear Betty & Family,
Bob was a long time friend. We remember him fondly and we miss his easy approach to life. He is still smiling down on those he loved.

I only found out about Bob today. Brenda and I are totally shocked. We are so sorry Betty. It seemed he would be around forever. Always enjoyed a laugh whether it was on him or someone else. He was the first one who took the time to show me what dirt bikes were all about. Great times

As an afterthought to my previous message of condolence I would like to add this little quote:
"Remembering is a journey the heart takes back into a time that was, and our thoughts are the only tickets needed to ride".
Again Bob will be missed by all of us on P.E.I.

Bob's passing has touched my heart in a very special way. He and I have been friends for many years and I always enjoyed having coffee with him on my trips up to Ottawa. He was a very kind man and will always be loved by his four children and 10 grandchildren.

With affection always

Betty and family,
We are so saddened to hear of the loss of such a wonderful man, your husband, and father to your sons. I will never forget him for his kindness to us all and his unending love for his children and grandchildren. I was once told a story by one of my cancer patients I was taking care of and I would like to pass it along to you. It is about how when we are living, we are caterpillars, and when we are sick or suffering, God helps us into a coccoon to protect us. Once we pass from this life, we transform into a beautiful butterfly, and are finally free. Maybe the next time you all see a butterfly, you can think of this, and think that perhaps it is Bob in a sense, still near you all, but finally been given his wings to fly.
To Sharon and Rob, my sister and brother; I love you. You have been blessed to have such a strong bond with your father as many of us never do. Hold his memories close to your heart and he will always be with you.
Love you all, and keeping you in my thoughts and prayers,
Laura and Bobby Vail and family

Dear Betty and family:
We were very sorry to hear of Bob's passing. He was a very kind man, and you were both so kind to us when we stayed with you those few months back in the spring of '98. I will never forget his hearty laugh and his very kind voice. He will be greatly missed.
To my brother Rob, and sister Sharon and families: There is no stronger bond than one shared by a parent and a child. We are here for you, whatever you need, and love you very much.
love always,
~Amy and Geoff MacLean and family

Betty and Family. Although I haven't seen you for a long time now please accept my sicerest condolences .
I have many fond memories .
I will never forget the trip five of us took in a certain green and white Ford Falcon driving non stop to Florida and back for the Daytona 200 Motorcycle Classic in 1970. And who could forget the times at Deer Lodge!

Dear Betty: I met Fred Colman at the IPM (International Plowing Match) and was very sad to hear that Bob's surgery had gone so bad. When Jane and I lived in Fitzroy we had good times just chatting and yes - talking about bikes. Bob was a sweetheart and a teddy bear with the heart that was wide open to anyone. Although we have moved and grown apart we will always remember both of you.

Dear Betty and all the Guzzo family. My Wife Heather and I send our deepest condolences.

The Ottawa valley has lost a great man who was larger than life.Bob always had a smile and joke and was always willing to lend a hand.. especially when it came to motorcycles.

Bob and I worked together at the Ottawa Carleton Catholic School Board. We both hit it off right away as we shared our zest for motorycles.

I have no doubt that Bob or as we called him the "Great Guzzoo"is up in heaven and jumped the gate to get in on his motorcycle instead of just walking .

God Bless you Bob you will not be forgotten.

Betty
I don't know where to start. Bob was my mentor and, much to my mothers dismay, the ONE who started me on this addiction known as motorcycles. He was a good friend growing up & helped me thru some rough times. He did a lot for motorcycling in the Ottawa area. He is truly missed out here. I have the picture of Bob & Ago on the wall with a bunch of other memorabilia from early days.
God's speed old friend

Dear Betty & Steve:

We miss Bob already and our hockey season won't be the same not being razed by Bob about us being Habs fans. We won't know when Spring has arrived as we have watched yearly for Bob to come outside in 9 degrees weather without his shirt on and start puttering about. Bob was always a helpful neighbour when were "newbies" on the block and continued to be a great neighbour and friend from that day forward. Steve and Betty, our deepest sympathies during this difficult time. We will miss him always.

My heartfelt sympathies to you Betty. We shall not see the likes of Bob again. Bob started me on my love of off-road motorcycling. The very first bike I road was Bob's 1972 Honda XL250 (24 hour endurance record setter) I have had a 35 year love of bikes since then.

May Bob find only sandy loam beneath his wheels, soft landings on the big jumps. May you find the perfect berm.

I haven't seen you for a long time Bob, but I feel richer for having known you.

Dear Betty, I was saddened to hear of Bob's passing and would like to express my sympathy to you and your family. In the late 1950's and early 1960's, Bob and I were active in the Ottawa area competition motorcycle scene and I have many fond memories of attending local motorcycle events with him and other members of our club. Bob was always smiling and happy to lend a hand when our motorcycles broke down, which was frequently in those days. I have attached a photo from November 1957, showing Bob and some of his old motorcycle friends taken at a "Trials" event at Cornwall, Ont. Bob is on the left, smiling as usual. The others are (L to R): Brian Taylor, John Ferguson, Art Emery, Don McCredie, Trevor Wilkinson, Charley (truck driver) and Jim Day. Bob will be missed by all.

Please know that our thoughts and prayers are with you and that our good friend Bob will be in our hearts always.

Dear Betty: I was very saddened and surprised to hear of Bob's sudden death. As recently as this summer, Ward had gone out to the St-Albert motorcycle rally organized by Bob, to catch up with him and other biker enthusiasts and he truly enjoyed himself, admiring the vintage bikes and meeting up again with some of "the old guys from the past".
Please accept my heartfelt sympathies and thank you for your kind support to me and my family last month.
From your friend and former colleague at CCAC (Home Care).
