Robert Lee Hagy DORAN, Va. Robert Lee Hagy, age 80, passed away Wednesday, Dec. 2, 2009, at a Richlands, Va., hospital. Born July 14, 1929, in Russell County, Va., he was the son of the late Walter and May Lowe Hagy; and stepmother, Fannie Hagy. He was a retired coal miner with Island Creek Coal Company and a member of UMWA. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 56 years, Pansy "Fern" Shelton Hagy on June 5, 2009; four brothers; and two sisters. He is survived by five sons, Rex Hagy and wife Denise of Doran, Roy Hagy and wife Kathy of Pounding Mill, Va., Jessee "Jabo" Hagy and wife Shirleen of Cedar Bluff, Va., Jerry Hagy and Willie "Boo" Hagy, both of the home; one daughter, Diane Absher and husband Chris of Cedar Bluff; eight grandchildren; two great-grandsons; two brothers, Raymond Hagy and wife Mary Anne of Bastian, Va., and Walter Hagy Jr. of Rocky Gap, Va.; three sisters, Shirley Clemons and husband Roger of Tazewell, Va., Josie Angle of Bluefield, Va., and Betty Morehead of Rocky Gap. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 5, 2009, at Singleton Funeral Service Chapel at Cedar Bluff. Burial will follow in the Greenhills Memory Gardens at Claypool Hill, Va. Pallbearers will be Matthew Hagy, Michael Hagy, Chris Absher, Stevie Shelton, Clint Shelton and Chris Halsey.
