Robert Hanson Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Sep. 15, 2013.
Hanson, Robert B. "Bob" Born in Minneapolis on November 3, 1948, Robert B. "Bob" Hanson passed away peacefully at the N.C. Little Hospice in Edina, MN on September 7, 2013 at the age of 64. Bob was preceded in death by his parents, Burton and June Hanson and his brother, David. Bob is survived by his siblings, Gary, Richard (Lana), Joyce (Robert) Elleraas and James; nieces and nephews, Thomas Hanson, Jon (Melissa) Crow, Patrick (Janell) Elleraas, Stephanie (Michael) Louden, Kristen (Sean) Hench, Lori Elleraas and Jenni Beal; great-nieces and nephews, Michael, Austin, Kayla, Jack, Alek, Alex, Piper, Alyssa, Savannah and Carter. Bob, a resident of St. Paul, was a graduate of Washburn High School in Minneapolis, and a long time (45 years), employee of the Minnesota State Services for the Blind (SSB). At SSB, he worked in the Engineering Department where he carried out numerous responsibilities over the years, including the creation and management of audio books for the blind. Bob was a uniquely talented individual, gifted musically, artistically and technologically - and freely gave of his talents to friends and family alike. He was a kind and generous person who gave of himself and his treasure to those in need. And, to a group of nieces and nephews, he was "Uncle Bob", a loving, caring presence who everyone cherished. We will all miss Bob greatly, but we are thankful that he was a blessed and enriching part of our lives. A private family celebration of Bob's life was held on September 10. Memorials are preferred to Minnesota State Services for the Blind. Morris Nilsen Chapel 612-869-3226 www.morrisnilsen.com

Bob was a coworker and friend who will be greatly missed. He had a quiet but delightful sense of humor and was a wonderfully talented guitarist and artist. There are so many good memories of fun times with Bob in the early years at the Communication Center. Bob was a constant in an agency continually changing. We have lost a gentle soul.
