Robert Harrell Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Dec. 12, 2025.
Georgetown - Robert Martin Harrell was born on November 11, 1940, in Beeville, Texas, and passed away on December 9th, surrounded by his family, following complications from surgery. Robert and his beloved wife, Marylin, had recently moved to Georgetown, Texas, to be closer to their only daughter, Jennifer.

Robert is survived by his wife of 61 years, Marylin Harrell; his daughter Jennifer Harrell (Marcy Nunez); and his grandchildren, Payton and Pierceson Nunez. He is also survived by his sister-in-law Nancy Mahurin (and family), brother-in-law Paul (Jay) Morrison (and family), lifelong friend Kay McLaughlin and her children Charles and Lisa, niece Karey Harrell Benedict, nephew Scott Lawson, and his devoted caretaker Fabian Olivarez. His family would never forget his Goldendoodle Maggie, her cat companions Jackie, Pearl, Sadie, and Hazel, and his granddogs Jolene, June Bug, and Molly, all of whom brought Robert daily joy.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Luby and Grace Demory Harrell; his siblings Luby (Allan), James (Jamie), and Barbara; his nephew David Harrell; his niece Cheryl Harrell Hosseini; and his lifelong friend Charles (Chuck) McLaughlin.

A proud graduate of Pettus High School's Class of 1960, Robert was called to serve his country in the United States Army in 1963. After his service, he built a long and dedicated career at PPG (Elementis Chromium) in Corpus Christi, where he worked for 37 years before retiring.

Robert's greatest joys in life were simple and sincere: his family, his animals, his garden, great food, and football. He loved to travel, and he and Marylin were fortunate to explore the world together, creating treasured memories across decades of shared adventures.

At this time, no services or memorial are planned, but the family asks that you keep Robert and those who loved him in your thoughts and prayers as they navigate this difficult new chapter.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Living Grace Canine Ranch (www.livinggracecanineranch.org). Robert had a deep love for animals, and Living Grace's mission of caring for senior dogs honors his compassionate spirit.

The first time I met Robert I remember he was standing in his daughter Jennifer“s home cooking deer meat in the kitchen while I chased Maggie around the house. He was indeed loved and I am so glad I had the opportunity to know him. RIP Robert
