It´s been almost 5 years since he passed. I feel bad I never kept in touch. He gave me my first job at KH when I had moved from Buffalo NY to Riverside CA. Bob and Susan were always kind to me. Gave me my first rotary phone and dresser for my first ever apartment. I remember the kindness always and of course, the party to celebrate his achievement in flying. RIP Bob. Hope you´re flying high in heaven. Pamela (Hess) Ray ..

Bob was so good to me. I talked him into speaking at some wave clinics and at NASA Dryden when Perlan and Paul Bickle's restored 1-23 was on display and just last year at the January 2018 AVSC Banquet where Jim and Jackie Payne and Morgan Sandercock presented their 53000 foot flight. He asked Jim why in over 30 years no one has gone more than a few thousand feet higher than his flight? 2 months ago when the AIRBUS Perlan 2 went to 62000, 66,000 and 76000 Bob called me to say I guess that answers my smart Alec question! As we watched the climb away on the virtual cockpit. Always great for a laugh, fun genuine friendship and a great man. Godspeed Bob. You reached out and touched the face of God in 1986. Now you can sit and talk with him a while my friend! Prayers for peace and comfort to Susan and the family. Bob truly had a life well lived and he will be missed. His picture at Inyokern airport will always be treasured.

Only knew of Mr. Harris by reputation, but the man who donates to the museum and calls it hangar rental should be remembered, that is very cool. He must have been a very good man. My condolences. Take care.

I was flying my sailplane at California City during the time Bob was trying to achieve his goal of beating the world glider altitude record. This was not an easy thing to do, Bob worked long and hard to achieve his goal! I enjoyed talking with him then, and admired his hard work and dedicated effort to reach his goal.

We lost touch soon after the record because we moved to Washington state, but his success has inspired me ever since.

I have never met anyone like Robert Harris. He was the most positive person I knew. His smile lit up a room. The genuine regard he had for others, his wit, charm, and charisma was truly unique. I will cherish the time spent with him. God speed Bob. Tee it High & Let it Fly.

We shared many happy times with Bob when he would visit Minden Nevada. He was so much fun to be around and took great pride in his famous Caesar salad he would often make for us. We have fond memories of Bob. He will be missed by everyone who knew him. We feel blessed to have known him. Our condolences to his family.
