Hartnett, Robert W. LOUDONVILLE Robert William Hartnett, 73 of Loudonville, the beloved husband of the late Jody Jean Nelson, passed away on Tuesday, August 2, 2022, in Schenectady. Born in Kansas City, Kan., he was the son of the late John and Pearl (Brown) Hartnett. Robert worked as an operations manager, employed by Metlife Insurance Company in Rensselaer. During his life, he enjoyed golfing and spending time with his family. He was devoted caretaker to both his wife and son. In addition to his parents and wife, Robert was predeceased by his son, James. Survivors include his children, Sarah Ruth Hartnett and Michael P. Hartnett; as well as his sister, Martha Riley. In keeping with Robert's wishes, services will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Huntington's Disease Society of America at https://hdsa.org or mailed to 505 Eighth Avenue, Suite 902, New York, NY, 10018. I am so very sorry for your loss. I met your Dad at Wichita State University when I started dating (and later married) one of his best friends...Gerry Gleissner. Your Dad, Mike Berry, and Gerry were roommates/suite mates at Fairmont Towers and the best of buddy´s. I have fond memories of those days when we were young and carefree!
I was so happy to meet you both when your Dad brought you and your brother James to Kansas to see where he and your Mom grew up.
You are in my thoughts and prayers today and during this difficult time as you remember your Dad. I am sure Gerry and Mike were at Heaven´s gates to welcome Bob to his Heavenly home!

Bob , Mike Berry and Gerry were the 3 musketeers in high school. They did everything together. They also had a nickname for every student that went to Miege. Unfortunately they all have passed. They are all looking down at us and laughing together.
