Robert Hauser

HAMPTON — Robert J. Hauser, 75, of Hampton, died Monday, April 11, 2011, at Oceanside Skilled Nursing & Rehabilitation.

He was born Feb. 25, 1936, in Johnstown, N.Y., a son of the late Lloyd and Helen M. (Cerrone) Hauser.

Raised in Johnstown he graduated from Johnstown High School and continued on for his engineering degree. He was employed by United Engineers of Philadelphia as a civil engineer as well as a project manager for over 30 years. After leaving United Engineers he finished his career with various local companies in the same capacity and as a consultant.

He moved to Hampton in 1978 from Elizabethtown, Pa., and was a communicant of Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal Church and a member of Knights of Columbus Council 5093. He enjoyed dancing, music, gardening, all types of sports, especially football, walking the beach, but most importantly spending time with his family.

He shared 49 years of marriage with the love of his life, his one and only, Genevieve M. "Jennie" (Romano) Hauser, who predeceased him in 2009.

Family members include four children, Ed Hauser and wife, Debra, of Somersworth, Helen Byrne and husband, Tom, of Newmarket, Rob Hauser and wife, Pattilu, of Eagle, Wis., Joe Hauser and wife, Kelly, of Cassopolis, Mich.; five grandchildren, Heather, Sam, Chad, Lucy and Josh; his brother, Thomas Hauser and wife, Karen, of Gloversville, N.Y.; his sister, Marilyn Muzzi of Johnstown, N.Y., nieces, nephews and cousins.

Visiting hours will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday, April 14, at the Remick & Gendron Funeral Home-Crematory, 811 Lafayette Road, Hampton. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday, April 15, at Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal Church, 289 Lafayette Road, Hampton. Burial will follow in the High Street Cemetery, Hampton.
