Marilyn LaRue Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Aug. 20, 2015.
Marilyn Jean LaRue, 90, of Midland, went home to be with her Savior on August 17, 2015. A visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m., Thursday, August 20, 2015 at Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home. A graveside service will be held at 3:00 p.m., Friday, August 21, 2015 at Resthaven Memorial Park. She was born on August 31, 1924 in Vanceburg, Kentucky to Harlan and Katherine Hood. She married the love of her life, C.R., on October 31, 1942 in Selma, Alabama. Marilyn had a great sense of humor, she was a happy person, and she loved jokes. She enjoyed listening to music and playing the piano and organ in her later years. She loved to go dancing with her husband. Marilyn also had a huge heart and loved traveling to Hawaii with her husband on their anniversaries. An incredible wife, mother, and grandmother, most of her life was spent as a homemaker and caring for her family until her children graduated high school. Marilyn also did real estate in Andrews and owned her own business called Marilyn LaRue Real Estate. She brought a strong, confident presence into the room with her and she always thought before she spoke. One of her favorite things to say was "Love is circle." Survivors include daughter, Marilyn (Missy) and husband, Charles W. Chitwood of Odessa; granddaughter, Shelley and husband, Johnny of Lubbock; granddaughter, Shannon Hogan from Irving; numerous great grandchildren and great, great grandchildren; and her care giver, Eunice Avila Baltazar of Midland. She is preceded in death by her husband of 70 years, C.R. LaRue; and son, Robert H. LaRue. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Salvation Army, Paralyzed Veterans, Meals on Wheels, and St. Jude's Children Hospital. Arrangements are under the direction of Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home & Crematory of Midland. Online condolences can be made to www.npwelch.com.
