My sincere condolences for the loss of Bob Hertrick. I worked with Bob at Pittsburgh's original Buhl Planetarium and Institute of Popular Science (a.k.a. Buhl Science Center) in the 1980s and early 1990s, including working with him on the USS Requin Submarine. I have mentioned Bob's passing on my SpaceWatchtower blog, which can be viewed at this address:

My condolences to the family. I am so sorry to hear that Bob has passed. I know that Bob was a dear friend of my ex-husband Paul McHugh. I knew him well. Paul and I listened to a lot of their beautiful music that was placed on cassette tapes. I will always remember those tapes. God prepares a place for us, May God bless you in your final place in heaven. I wish the best for your family and friends that will miss you dearly. Ruth

I am deeply sadden by Bob's passing. I worked with him at the Buhl and Carnegie Science Centers and he was always one of my favorite people to work with. I really enjoyed his company. I feel a loss knowing I won't see him again. My sympathies to his family and loved ones.

Always a brother.

Bob, I've known you since I was 13 I believe. Through a mutual friend, Paul, you and he led me to DeMolay when I turned 14. It was a wonderful journey growing with friends like yourself. You made music tapes for me I recall. I remember a studio set up in your home. I remember your Chevy Nova and rebuilding the carburetor for you on your kitchen table. I remember midnight runs out to the airport for sodas and pancakes at Dinda's and lest we forget coffee til dawn at Ho-Jo's in Greentree. There are so many memories Bob that will always be there with me until my light is extinguished. Thank you for many of them. May you rest in the arms of our Lord now. GOD bless you and be with you Bob. Michael.
