Robert "Bob" Herzog

Robert "Bob" Herzog, 84, passed away on May 9, 2024, in Santa Barbara, California at Serenity House after a short battle with pancreatic cancer.

Bob was a soft-spoken, kind, and gentle man who loved his family dearly. He is survived by his wife, Shari, his son Dan, daughter-in-law Pam, grandsons Tyler and Lucas, and sisters Shirley and Rita. He was preceded in death by his son Erik Herzog in 2016.

Bob spent his youth growing up in Thousand Oaks and working at his dad's gas station when it was the only one in town.
Bob attended Oxnard Union High School and went on to earn a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration from San Jose State College. He proudly served in the Air Force from 1963 to 1966 during which time he was deployed overseas on a base in Taiwan.

In his professional life, Bob worked as a Thermal Engineer for Dalmo-Victor Company, contributing to the moon buggy communications array for the Apollo program. He later held various management positions at Jostens, Inc., overseeing the production of school class rings and professional sports championship rings. Bob concluded his career as the North American Van Lines agency owner in Santa Barbara, California, providing moving and storage services to many clients.

Outside of work, Bob enjoyed bowling in his younger days and, as he grew older, he found joy in playing golf and poker with his buddies.
