Robert L. Holley, Jr

Robert "Bob" L. Holley Jr, 73, of Tampa, passed away on September 6, 2025, after a short battle with Non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma. He was born on October 2, 1951, to Sylvia Menendez Holley and Robert L. Holley Sr. Bob was a devoted son, brother, uncle, husband, and father. He is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Oma Strickland Holley; his daughter, Amber Holley; and his siblings, Helen Lyle, David (Michele) Holley, and Teresa Holley.

Bob honorably served in the United States Air Force for four years during the Vietnam Era. Following his military service, he built a life and career in Tampa. Bob worked 15 years for Raytheon Marine Company as a Field Tech then Service Manager. He finished his working career after 15 years with Verizon as a Circuit Design Tech. Bob was a proud member of Local IBEW 824.

In his later years, Bob lived in his dream home in Gibsonton, Florida with neighborhood access to Tampa Bay through the Alafia River. Bob was dedicated to improving his community and served several times as President of Alafia River Estates HOA. Bob was a good neighbor and friend.

Bob will be remembered for his love of travel, the meals he cooked for friends and family, the joy he found in being on the water, and also for his quick wit and sarcastic humor. He was the kind of person who would always do what was right - even if he sometimes drove a little too fast getting there. His compassion, kindness, steadiness, and humor enriched the lives of all who knew him.

A Celebration of Life to honor Bob will be held on Saturday, October 4, 2025, at 3:00 p.m. at his home.
