Robert J. Holm

1925 - 2013

Robert J. Holm, 88, passed away Friday, Feb. 22, 2013, at Golden Living-Golden Age Nursing Home in Tomahawk.

Robert was born on Feb. 12, 1925, in Kenosha to G. Adolph and Myrtle H. (Stewart) Holm. He was married to Arline Tucholl on April 10, 1948, at Friedens Evangelical Lutheran Church in Kenosha. She passed away in 2001. Robert served his country during World War II in the U.S. Marines. He was a Purple Heart recipient. He lived most of his life in the Kenosha area, formerly owning and operating Holms Manufacturing for many years. He was a former member of the Masonic Lodge, the Knights Templar and St. Matthews Episcopal Church. He was a private pilot in his younger years and loved flying.

Survivors include his son, Robert B. (Catherine) Holm of Rhinelander; daughter, Robin Lee (David Wright) Holm of Martinsville, Ind.; six grandchildren; and ten great-grandchildren.

Robert was preceded in death by his parents; his wife of 53 years; a sister, Ramona Hagmann; and a granddaughter in infancy, Lauren.

A memorial service will be held on Monday, March 4, at Proko Funeral Home at 11 a.m. Interment will follow at Sunset Ridge Memorial Park with full military honors. Visitation will be held on Monday at the funeral home from 10 a.m. until the time of the service.

I will deeply miss my dear friend and neighbor chatting with me over the fence. We shared a love of flowers and good laughs. Bob was an exceptional person who fully loved and enjoyed life. May God bless you all in this time of sorrow.

HELLO ROBERT AND ROBIN AND FAMILIES. WE EXTEND OUR SINCERE SYMPATHY TO YOU IN THE DEATH OF YOUR FATHER. BOB WAS A GREAT GUY WITH LOTS OF ENERGY AND ENTHUSIASM FOR LIFE. HE FLEW AT OUR AIRPORT MANY TIMES. IN FACT, I THINK WE STILL HAVE A PROP FROM HIS PLANE THAT WAS DAMAGED BEYOND REPAIR!! THAT'S ANOTHER STORY!! WE ARE THINKING OF YOU DURING THIS TIME OF STRESS.
