Rob was my professor at Brandeis and later a good friend and amazing colleague. A group of us were privileged to study with Rob, Bob Binstock, Jim Shulz, Jim Callahan, Alan Sager, and others in the field of aging. It was a very special time in the field of aging and this group was the best. Later, Rob took over the Public Policy and Aging Report that I had started and made it an international treasure. His leadership and commitment to its quality was extraordinary. As a political scientist, his insights, analysis, and provocative approach were unique. As a person, his generosity, humor, and loyalty were also unique. Thank you Rob for all you did for so many of us.

Prof. Hudson ignited a love for policy when I was an MSW student, so very grateful for the time I had learning from Prof. Hudson!

Dr. Hudson was compassionate, brilliant, and supportive and I am so sad to hear about his passing. He was the chair of my dissertation committee and I owe him a huge gratitude for his support and guidance. I know many of his former students feel that way.
He spoke with so much love and pride of his family. I am sad for your loss, Tim, Perry and the rest of the family.

Rob was my professor at Brandeis University. He was smart, articulate, and taught me about the politics of aging and how it affects individuals and society.
Rob was also my friend: kind, caring, and witty. He always had a smile, a joke, or an encouraging word.
He will be missed. RIP.

An amazing scholar, inspiring teacher, and a fantastic human being! He made my graduates studies rich and fulfilling in more ways than I ever had the chance to tell him. Rest in peace, Rob. -Celina

I worked with Rob at BUSSW and I remember Rob most for his sense of humor. We shared many laughs and memories.
I also remember how Rob often talked about Perry and Tim with so much love and admiration. The two of you brought such light to his life!
My deepest condolences to Perry and Tim.
Rest in peace my friend.

My first memory of my cousin Robin was when I was a child about 6 years old visiting my Aunt and Uncle in Ann Arbor, MI. Robin gave me his stuffed ocelot to keep me company when I came down with chicken pox. I loved that ocelot because it was so Robin...what child has a stuffed ocelot as a toy? Forty years later, when he, Michael and Vera came to my mother's service, I returned the ocelot to him with the same ribbon around its neck. Robin was my mother's favorite nephew. I wish I had shared that with him when we spoke a few months ago catching up and talking about the family history. I will so miss that dry wit and sense of humor. God speed Robin.

While a serious person, Robin had a way of lightening the mood in any conversation. He had an impact on the Universe. I'm glad he was my cousin.

Rob Hudson was my professor and mentor at the Heller School, Brandeis University. We remained friends throughout the years and shared fun times in gerontological circles. I loved his kindness, wry humor and constant encouragement and support. He was a giant in our profession and will be greatly missed. As a cousin I unfortunately did not see a lot of Robin over the years but always remember his wit and sense of humor. My mother, who had more contact with Robin over the years, would often reference his great sense of humor and how much she enjoyed talking to him. They had a great relationship over the years which Robin also mentioned when he came to Truro for her funeral services. He leaves behind a great many good memories for those were fortunate enough to have enjoyed his company.
